Just because my veins are filled with the Pure Aryan blood of the true master race, I'd HARDLY say that makes me a Nazi.  I was hanging with some of my retard homies in Chicago recently and apparently they're under the impression that they're normal and you're the retard that they're trying to help.

Ryan Poortenga, 33, Milwaukee.  I've been aware of this site since it started but never bothered to register since I'm not too interested in 98% of the bands getting discussed--I think a Die Kreuzen thread sucked me in over the winter.  I know or have met a number of folks on here.  That number is 13.  I like the variety and wit, don't like the occasional wanton stupidity but it's more good than bad.  I play guitar and sing in Bear Proof Suit--only took me 16 years to finally get the band I've wanted to be in since I was 16.  I'm a truck driver, which is an amazing job if you've got the right mentality.  I've got the right mentality.

No one has yet mentioned:
GIMME DANGER, the Iggy Pop Story--just came out a few years ago
SALAD DAYS by Charles Romalotti--a short fiction novel about the exact period of time (late 80's to early 90's) when I was seriously getting into punk rock.  Particularly recommended for anyone over 30 who likes punk rock and grew up in a town in the middle of nowhere.
BANNED IN D.C.
HARDCORE CALIFORNIA
THE DIRT: The Motley Crue Story--more sex, drugs, hatred and death in here than every other punk book combined.

Day Of The Jackyl  (1973--assassin stalks De Gaulle)
Fatherland (1994--Rutger Hauer, what if Hitler had won WWII?)
Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia (1973--Peckinpah, what else do you need?)

The 7" can't touch their live prowess, I'm afraid, but hey, we'll always have the basement!

Scott, give "New York" a shot--it's really a very good rock album with very gritty lyrics--the entire thing is sort of a postcard from New York about all the fucked up shit going on with drugs, AIDS, greed and everything else happening in that city at the end of the 80's.  It stands on it's own quite nicely and I'm no major Reed fan by a long shot.

Butthole Surfers?

Rot shit is members of the radio beats and our assorted moron friends.
It was started as an excuse to take a ton of drugs,go berzerk and bum people out.

No shit, isn't this why everyone starts a fucking punk band?  I mean does anyone around here KNOW Eric Schultz?!  I now look forward to the HOLY SHIT!/ROT SHIT split 7" with great anticipation.

Jesus, who the fuck is Rot Shit?  Holy Shit! is doing a split 7" with them!  At least I know one side will be good, I guess--actually Tabman told me it's all covers I think cuz last week they did F.U.s, Negative Approach, Stikky and No Comment (!!!!!) songs that I hadn't heard them do before.

Richard, what's a cougar and why am I a big fan of them?
Also, what's your take on Celtic Frost recording a new album and touring the U.S. this fall?

I dled a ton of songs on Soulseek by Fast Cars last year, I assume there was some official reissue at some point and it's all pretty consistent song and sound quality-wise although that song seemed to remain the obvious high point if I recall.

No, it's all about cold supremacy.

You will see a Bear Proof Suit song called Cold Supremacy shortly.  Thanks, Kev.
