Sorry! Some tasty LP's though! Actually I am backlogged on listening to the latest batch, so redemption may be at hand.  HZR 114-117 not my faves though.

"Shittin' A DUD" mind if we use that one?

Anyway, I think Kevin is dead on, there's so many new people out buying records now, people way younger and that's actually a great sign. But like everyone else not flushed with money, I can't afford to take as many chances as I used to, and that's OK too, it's definitely an age thing. I'll bet a lot of you haven't heard all of the stuff we put out, and would probably like a lot of it.

And Todd, I doubt the Puffy Areolas LP, E.T. Habit, Nones, or COZY singles sounds much like Spider, come on dude. You just haven't heard all the records, it's fine, just hit me up and I'd be glad to send you downloads to check out.

But we've got our first archival release coming out in a few days, the 1972 FURY 7" with a pre-Testors Sonny Vincent, it's a ball-crusher too. Huge interview here with several streaming songs, radio ads and answering machine messages from Joey & Dee Dee, GOOD SHIT FOR A CHANGE:

Music Shit / Norton Records Warehouse flooded!
« on: October 30, 2012, 11:43:44 PM »
Super sucks!

From Miriam Linna's Facebook page.

This is a revised notice as of tonite. There was fear of more destruction from today's high tide cycle, so we were prevented from doing anything more than entering the flooded building to view the destruction with flashlights (no power) and leave. Hopefully, tenants and residents of Zone A will be permitted in tomorrow, and we can begin to move forward. This will take time, muscle, and a lot of conviction. Please stay tuned...

To Friends and Family of Norton Records

Thanks to all who have checked in offering concern for us here at Norton Records during Hurricane Sandy. The Brooklyn warehouse which was home to Norton Records was completely flooded by the tidal surge, which is only now beginning to subside. We have no electricity, and the damage is catastrophic. Please realize that many items will be unavailable going forward. We will work to respond to all orders and inquiries, but there may be a delay in responding. All mail going in and out of the New York area has been closed down since the storm hit. We hope to be back in action as soon as possible as "the label with the able stable".

Semi-vaguely-related; have you heard the new Humongous LP on Black Velvet Fuckere? Some Cherry Blossoms connections? Digging it this morning. Numbers Band/MX-80/Hampton Grease Band jazz punk jams. Prefer the female vocal tracks, but I like it all.

90% of all music has always sucked. Believe me, I have piles of dreck. Sometimes though, I'll come back to something and enjoy it the second time around. Pack rat for life! And I'm at least as old as anyone on this thread. But I'll say In the last two weeks I grabbed on 7": Utah Jazz, No Bails, Buck Biloxi, Hygiene, Bill Direen, Total Control, Useless Eaters, Dancer, Kelley Stoltz.... And none of them SUCK! No HOZACs in the recent pile, they have been shitting some 7" duds for sure. Cheers!

New UV Race. Great! All three In The Red LPs came today! With Sandy encroaching, it's a good day to stay inside and listen in Upstate NY. Hope NYC is doing ok!

Some of his stuff is pretty alright. Decent Pere Ubu cover on a 12" I have, there is some song on a BBC comp that goes, "you, you think it's love, because you're not intelligent" that is great. Cobra Verde do an AMAZING cover of "The Great Dominions" by The Teardrop Explodes.

You've never heard of them because of organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center (and the JDL, B'nai Brith, etc...) whose job it is to keep Nazis, skinheads, and the KKK alive and dominating your fears. They are well funded by white guilt. Blacks don't have as much disposable income and reverse racism doesn't sell. Without blacks as victims, which outing reverse racist views would diminish, they couldn't raise as much money. Ever heard of the Five percenters? Everybody hates everybody else. Who cares, as long as you aren't physically hurting another. Pax, Phil

I dig it! Got spun on the airwaves over here.

Fred Cole! "You Must Be A Witch"! The whole rest of the Lollipop Shoppe/Weeds record could suck (which it doesn't), and still be redeemed by that tune!
