Anyone heard any of these yet recent releases?  Anyone know where the LPD box can be purchased here in the States.

I'm pretty sure all the songs on the Martha Splatterhead 12" are on the Return of Martha Splatterhead LP, which was reissued.  But no reissue as it was, yet anyways.  In my early teenager years I saw the Accused/Rejectors shows many times and they were really fucking fun.  Both the Accused and the Rejectors were really nice to us youngsters as well.  Good times.

"Do it Clean" is a great song, no matter what yer into.

Hell yeah, and the live version of "Do it Clean" on the b-side of the Killing Moon maxi-single is great too.

There's some cool maxi-singles out there and that is one of them.

I'm STILL waiting for the be-all, reveal-all 20 hour doc on the Eastern Front,  the most vicious land war in human history.

Me too.  Have you read any Vasily Grossman?  I've been on a 20th Century Russian history/literature kick for a few months now.

The Giants really need a closer...bad.

Yeah?  They should talk to Seattle.  Putz is one of the best in baseball.  Offer a couple of below-average or mediocre players and I'm sure Bill Bavasi would go for it.

Rome Season 1 - Finally came around to this soap opera after getting over occasional History Channel vibe. Lots of blood and fucking and catty intrigue. Over-all, I dug it, even though it took a few episodes. The dude who plays Titus Pullo (big killing machine guy) was at our show some months back.

Though I liked Ceasar, Season 2 is better, I think, especially the Titus Pullo character.

i like to listen to Obama but he is hardly radical and barely liberal.

Granted, I know very little about Obama, but based on what I do know, my theory is that young people only want him elected because he's got a good smile, he's been tagged and retagged by the media as an uberliberal and (wait for it) he's black.  Also, he's a Chicagoan, so that's reason enough for most meatheads here in town to vote for him.

In other words: Another token.  Which means my generation's flock of happypants political assholes are just as an uninformed and fickle as the conservatives they rail against.

It does seem like some folks like him because he's a good looking black guy.  But I like that he doesn't pussyfoot around the fact he was into drugs, that he smokes, that he's not afraid to say he wouldn't be an asshole to Cuba, that he'd actually talk to other leaders of our fair world.  Just seems like he's less of a politically cautious bullshitter than the rest of the front runners.

I still don't know if I'll vote for him though because sometimes I don't think he's black enough.

I vote, but normally, I don't give two shits about politics.  It's way too frustrating.  I listen to people's words literally and expect them to fucking do what they say and say what they mean.  Politicians don't do that.  I hate the Democrats.  I hate the Republicans.  Though I do like certain politicians at times.  I'm a cynic I guess who believes no politician will do shit about getting people health care or things that really matter.

However, Bush and his buddies pissed me off enough to start paying a little more attention to their political world a bit.  People getting killed for stupid reasons pisses me off.  Torture pisses me off in general, but particularly when the leaders of my country okay it, and our government representatives do it.  Attempting to legally justify invading Iraq?  Uh, after my initial disbelief that pissed me off.

Alberto Gonzales justified torture.  He was a yes man to the way too powerful Bush circle.  He really pissed me off when as the head of the Justice Department he backed the firing of lead U.S. Attorneys, what should be a neutral and apolitical position, for not being politically subservient.  For example, here in Seattle the U.S. Attorney was fired because he refused to bring charges against Democrats and County officials for voter fraud in a closely contested governer's race where the democrats won.  The guy is a life long Republican and found no evidence of misconduct.  So he was fired.

Fuck Gonzales.  He is a little yes man who supported torture, an illegal and unjust war, and the overt politicizing of our federal legal system and voting system.  If he ever had a "good name" he doesn't have it anymore.  Fucking little elitist pee brain.

I guess I'm getting blowhardish.  I actually don't talk politics much at all.  And I'm no know-it-all, believe it or not.  You don't have to be those things to be pissed and voice an opinion once in a while.

Why do people hate this guy so much? What makes him worse than anyone else appointed by Bush? I stopped paying attention to politics after Bush got reelected because it was just too depressing, so I'm seriously wondering here.

Guantanamo
U.S. Torture Policy
Political Firing of U.S. Attorneys
Dishonesty or Insincerity at Congressional Hearings re above
At the very least the appearance that he is more loyal to Bush, Rove, Cheney, Republican Party than the country.
Front line U.S. attorneys (Republican and Democrat) seem to dislike him because he is "a terrible leader", "insincere", and "speaks of little substance" - at least here on the West Coast

Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman.  Holy Fuck!  This is such a great book.  Unbelievable how good of a writer/story teller he is.  Some light summer reading.

My litmus test for telling a real rock n roll chick from the fakers is if they want to give it up for Iggy they're faking it, if they get all jelly-like for the Ashton Bros they're the real deal...
