I also come from a long line of bikers, but I hate the fucking outlaw scene. They're like skinheads, can't fight on their own, and if you get into it with one you are swarmed. Maybe in the 60s and 70s it was different, but nowadays they are fuckin tools. At least up here in the Seattle area. Plus, if you're in an outlaw club you don't own your own bike, the club owns it. Fuck that. And they're too cool to ride anything but Harleys. I used to love riding up on my little "rice bikes" or my old BSA to one of my older brothers parties all full of tough guys. Basically they'd try to make fun of me but they ended up just looking stupid. Like the jocks in high school who used to call us faggots, and we never understood why they thought that would hurt our feelings. We'd then just insult their intelligence and they didn't seem to care or get it. Though I must admit, my favorite bike ever was my old 1977 Harley Shovelhead FXS, totally stock, that I found in an old barn and bought off a guy. Best effin bike ever, but I got smashed by a 1980 Cadillac that failed yield when turning left. Cracked helmet, busted shoulder, and lots of skin scraped off my right leg, and my bike twisted and mangled and not repairable....still bums me out.
