Again, thanks for all orders! Last batch of orders will ship tomorrow.

Distro copies went out to:

Kenrock (Sweden)
Second Layer (UK)
Volcanic Tongue (UK)
Bis Auf Messers (Germany)
Pollymaggoo (France)
Aquarius (US)
Parts Unknown (US. apparently already sold out?)
All Day Records (US)
Fusetron  (US)

Yeah, should be about $38 ppd to the US for only one LP.. Always get a bit surprised when overseas people only order one LP from RTB, dosen't make much sense. Though most people has ordered more stuff at the same time. Again, thanks alot for all orders! Most paid copies will go out before the weekend.

NO BALLS - COME CLEAN LP (RTB#54)
Repetive face banging from No Balls, which is Drajan Bryngelsson and Dan R?berg from Brainbombs. Filthy and monotonous protopunk... Drums and guitars, with some vocals and trumpets thrown in occasionally. Kind of like a mix of Brainbombs and DNA. Raw and intense. 11 tracks, 35 minutes. Black print on brown cardboard covers. Mastered by Pete Swanson. Limited to a mere 300 copies.

Order via the store here: http://www.releasethebats.com
Listen to a track here: http://www.myspace.com/releasethebatsrecords

RTB is also taking pre-orders on the long delayed Blessure Grave 7" now. Already have the 7"s here, just waiting for the covers. Will ship within the next 1-2 weeks or so.

BLESSURE GRAVE - MAKING THE DEATH BEDS 7" (RTB#46)
With previous releases on Night People, Captured Tracks and Holidays, San Diegos Blessure Grave now gives us their first release on RTB. A limited 7" with 2 exclusive tracks that will not be on the upcoming debut album Judged By 12, Carried By 6 (which will be released early 2010, LP on RTB and CD on Alien 8 Recordings). A perfect blend of post punk and goth, with influences from Danse Society, Death In June and Killing Joke. Artwork by Shawn Reed.

Still hot:

DOVE YELLOW SWANS - LIVE DURING WAR CRIMES 3 CD (RTB#38 )
The final installment in the Live During War Crimes trilogy, this one being one of the last releases ever from Yellow Swans. Four unedited live sets from the bands last year in existence. Included are the PDX Pop Now set (July 2007), a live soundtrack to a film by Avalon Kalin (February 2008), a set from the Picador, Iowa City (October 2007), and the final US show in Chicago (June 2008). Big sounding stuff, very loud and very dense, with the melodic guitarwork being more prominent just as on the last couple of releases. Epic, sky-shredding beauty in a total playtime of 78 minutes. Mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk at Stereophonic Mastering. Comes in a gatefold sleeve with black felt, cover art by Ryan Boyle.

Ok, LP obviously got a bit delayed but today UPS delivered the LPs. Will most likely go up for sale on releasethebats.com during the weekend. A few distros will carry this as well, but that will take a while.

Only got 15 copies of the 7" and they sold out pretty much right away (all orders just shipped btw!). Fusetron, Second Layer and Volcanic Tongue should still have it in stock, maybe Aquarius as well?

I would say that the upcoming LP is a bit more varied in sound (not THAT much though, haha). There is one track up here: http://www.myspace.com/releasethebatsrecords, it's a bit different than the 7". Should have testpressings shortly, and if everything's fine it will be ready in, say, 2 weeks? Not sure about US distros yet but Aquarius will have a big bunch for sure, will probably be a bit expensive but cheaper than purchasing it from Sweden for sure (Swedish postage + current exchange rates = yuck). 300 copies, 11 tracks, about 35 minutes. Brown cardboard sleeves with black print, design similar to the 7".

You can't pay in the actual store, mostly due to some problems with the swedish postal and weight system. We are filling all orders manually, if you placed an order and wants to pay via Paypal, you will get an Paypal-invoice from us with the full total sooner or later. It's really not that weird if you just read the order instructions first!

Ah, nice!

Also, there is one track from the upcoming LP up on the RTB myspace now: http://www.myspace.com/releasethebatsrecords

Aquarius has copies (or at least had), i think they are the only one.

NO BALLS 7" (DF#2)

"Private press of 187 numbered copies. No Balls is usually Drajan Bryngelsson and Dan R?berg from Brainbombs but this 7? is just Drajan. Monotonous protopunk with some No Wave hints. Drums and guitars. Some vocals and trumpets occasionally. The sound is raw, intense and in your face. Kind of like a mix of Ruins, DNA and Brainbombs. Orange vinyl in screenprinted covers." - Second Layer

"Limited private press single from this Brainbombs off-shoot featuring solo jams from Drajan. The A is a Sabs-style sludge guitar assault that generates a noxious heavy gravity, while the flip is a crunchier No Wave jam that gets into an angular, minimalist jag. Numbered edition of only 187 copies." - Volcanic Tongue

Got a bunch of this for sale in the RTB mailorder now, kind of expensive but well worth it! Debut album coming soon on RTB, LP with 11 tracks, limited to 300 copies.

PETER WRIGHT - BRIGHT FAILING STAR LP (RTB#51)
Born in New Zealand and a true veteran of the experimental scene, Peter Wright has spent more than a decade developing his mesmerizing guitar work close to perfection. As fellow New Zealand underground acts like Antony Milton and Birchville Cat Motel, Peter Wright has been very prolific during the years and released a huge amount of releases around the world. RTB are very proud to present Bright Failing Star, the first vinyl-only album from Peter Wright! Perhaps a bit more slow-paced and somber than other of his recordings, the sounds on Bright Failing Star are calm while yet being powerful. With the beautiful open air dynamics and the somewhat colder feeling, the subtle tones of Bright Failing Star are very autumn-like. Coldness with a warm undertone, darkness with some hints of light. Organic drone music at it?s best. Assembled with recordings from England, USA and Norway. Limited to 300 copies, black vinyl, full colour artwork by Peter Wright and mastered by Viktor Ottosson.

Bright Failing Star is probably one of the most straightforward albums I've made, and under some of the most trying circumstances I've encountered in recent years. The south London flat we were in at the time had suffered flood damage during the summer before we moved in, and our room had it's sodden carpet ripped out and the bare concrete floor exposed. This was never fixed in the duration we lived there so by December it was bloody freezing. To compound this we had no hot water for 5 months, coping by boiling pots on the stove for showers and cleaning. Why did we stay there? It was cheap and we were saving money to travel. We can laugh about it now, just.

Somehow in the midst of this almost third world style living arrangement, a hectic day job, and planning for our forthcoming travels and return to NZ, I managed to find enough creative head space to record an album, albeit as part of the process of rehearsing and preparing for a show in Paris supporting Stars Of The Lid. It was done with the utmost economy and efficiency, live to disc, no frills or overdubs, plugged directly into a laptop with headphones for monitors, with the post-production addition of a field recording on a Philadelphia-bound Amtrak train and a short piano segment taped in Oslo that happened to fit as a kind of coda. It's still surprising to me how spacious and panoramic it sounds. And not at all bleak as it could have been. It's like I was dreaming of the open spaces I'd rather have been in at that time and transmitting those thoughts via electronic signals to the computer.

The title Bright Failing Star is a direct cop from a David Bowie lyric ('Subterraneans'), and I love the opposing positive/negative idea in the phrase, which mirrors the glittering decay of the music within.
- Peter Wright, September 2009
