front side they sit peacefully w/ a couple of mannequins

backside one attacks them while the other makes off w/ the girl

I see this and hear "Looks like a techno record?  Good.  Also fuck you punk purists"

That's my 1 and only fridge.  My budget is a LONG way off upgrading pretty much anything in my home/life.

Was just talking to a friend about XTC yesterday.  He also mentioned much respect for Drums n Wires.  The couple really great songs on there, Reel By Reel and one other are amazing, but I skip a lot afterwards...

I thought Black Sea was the best for awhile but recently been thinking it's Go 2.

Love that organ!

I have a copy of that DVD; don't know why it says bootleg, it is a legit release I bought at Disk Union.

I was bugging Hiroshi years and years ago to release Velocity in the US and there was just no way he was gonna do it it.

Maybe now if someone who had an actual label and offered actual money asked he'd do it...

Instead he gave me some "Complete Sessions" CDs to distribute.  I still have a few if anyone is interested.

I have a 2nd copy of Velocity as well I suppose I don't really need...

Still one of my all time favorite bands.

Is it sacrilege to suggest it's necessary to skip the 2 long songs on Velocity to make it one of the best EPs ever?

"Back when I lived in Japan" story of the day:  "Ren Night" at Poor Cow.

Fifi mentioned they were doing an event -- "Ren Night"

I was like what's that and he was basically like I don't really know, so I got super excited and for sure was going.

It was Ren with a mic and very rare records talking about them and playing them to a polite audience which eventually passed the mic around and got more interactive; then Ren got drunker and played his bass along to a Jackson 5 record!

HOME RUN EVENT.

musically "talk dirty to me" and a turd like "when i come around" are nearly identical, guitar rock, 4/4, two verses, two choruses, solo, chorus.

hahahaha

when longview & basket case came out i thought "wow, for the first time...  ever?  music that sounds pretty much like what i listen to is on the radio."

so they waited til the 3rd or 4th single to start TOTALLY sucking.

when i come around and that acoustic kinks rip off song.

Tour of Youth Brigade, Social Distortion 1982.

In a lot of ways I think this is everything that America did wrong with punk in the early 80s, namely a bunch of California bullshit.

On the other hand I can watch pretty much any crappy music documentary and have a good time, and the filmmakers certainly knew what was interesting (footage of the reformed punk Christian house was mesmerizing).
