Kill Rock Stars is proud to announce that riot grrrl pioneers Heavens to Betsy?s debut 7? ep, These Monsters Are Real, has been re-mastered from the original tapes by Adam Gonsalves and is available digitally for the first time ever in honor of its 25th anniversary!

Formed by bassist/vocalist Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney, Filthy Friends) and bassist/drummer Tracy Sawyer (The Lies) in Olympia, WA in 1991, Heavens to Betsy made their debut at the legendary International Pop Underground Convention. Alongside their peers like Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, and Team Dresch, they ushered in a new era of feminist punk whose influence continues to be felt today!

Available on your choice or red or black vinyl at https://heavenstobetsykrs.bandcamp.com/album/these-monsters-are-real

Wimps 'Garbage People'
lp/cs/cd/digital
(Kill Rock Stars)

Seattle?s Wimps (Rachel Ratner, Matt Nyce, and David Ramm) are back with their third album, Garbage People, out July 13th on LP, cassette, CD, and MP3! Known all over as one of the premiere ?plenty of nonsense? guitar/bass/drum groups, Garbage People finds Wimps taking a sonic leap forward (there?s saxophone, keyboard, and juuuust enough cowbell) and lyrically (subject matter ranges from gender pay inequality, decline of bee populations as a result of climate change, insomnia, and wanting to steal a pizza ... but only if it?s cheese!) On Garbage People, Wimps have successfully filtered the best parts of 70?s Rough Trade, the International Pop Underground 7? series, Devo, The B-52s, the Breeders, etc. into a unique and timeless sound that appeals to playlist streaming teens AND adults who own over 500 records.

Lithics 'Matings Surfaces'
lp/cs/cd/download
(Kill Rock Stars)

Mating Surfaces is the second full length from Portland, Oregon's Lithics. Twelve tightly wound fragments of brittle abstract twin guitar, impellent rhythm, and absurd, imagistic lyricism.

"A stern danceable sound that summons cut up snapshots of Su Tissue and Mark E Smith, an imagined landscape where Captain Beefheart hits that 99 Records ?Too Many Creeps? beat."
-Layla Gibbon (Maximum Rocknroll, Skinned Teen)

Still available: Taiwan Housing Project 'Veblen Death Mask,' Dana Gould 'Mr. Funny Man'

i like emily heller and kurt braunohler a bunch, but i also work with them so...

Well, look at the namedropper over here. I sat just a few rows away from Tom Wopat on a flight from Nashville to Detroit back in 1987, and you don't see me bragging. Hell, I spoke to Art Bell on open lines Friday and he hung up on me... but do I htoot my own horn. .44 Caliber Killer Ronnie Johns attended my middle school and high school, but do I try to gain street cred by referencing him?

Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

haha... guess i had that one coming.
