Cities / Sacramento questions
« on: March 24, 2011, 02:41:21 PM »
I am flying into Sacramento International on Tuesday eve, arriving
at about 11:00 pm.  I need a decent/cheapie hotel to stay at that
also would be near an all night restaurant so I can have dinner.

Also - transportation into town is also a question?
My research shows that the last metro bus from the airport
departs at 10:30
Therefore, either I get a ride on a hotel shuttle into town or
take a cab.
I glanced at the Sacto thread, but it's 41 pages.
Researching a Sacto hotel in the search engine came up nil.

Any suggestions to save $$ would be appreciated.

I always check this Atlanta Consumer advocate's website
for travel info and deal alerts -

Clark has great advice, however most of the info might book out
of Atlanta.

This guy has Destiny Sreet for sale.

His beginning prices are good and I figure
alot of his discs will sell.  Lots of good oldies
and Fred Frith, Hawkwind etc

Last night, PBS Nova had a segment on the artificial intelligence
complications of trying to make a computer 'think'  or respond
like a human brain.

This is in reference to the upcoming Jeopardy champions
taking on the IBM computer 'Watson' starting next Monday.

This could be a major scientific/computer science breakthrough
(so they say).

This is not meant to be a negative comment.

There's a glimmer of a Grassroots hit wrapped up
in the B-side of this single.  At least thats what I
heya.

I am going to eat every meal at The Varsity.
Fuck, Mitch. That's a horrible idea. Hopefully we can swing another Saturday pig roast. There will most certainly be home made hot dogs though so I would advise against the Varsity.

The Dekalb Farmers Market Cafe is THE place to eat great food on the cheap
here in the ATL  -  everyone has loved it - but recommend you microwaving your plate
for about 60 seconds to reheat the plate up

I traded my copy of Killing Joke's Brighter lp many years ago.
I felt it didn't have the "EDGE" of the earlier records.
It wasn't even an add!  But I would actually like to hear it
again as maybe I was unwise or impatient the first go round.
As I recall it was sort of a New Order sounding disc - and at the time I
rarely liked this sound (despite the fact that I always liked Chris and
Cosey or the Psyclones).  I guess these last 2 bands were a more minimal
song structure sound.

I have discovered the Loves and Disloves radio show and really enjoy
her tunage here in Lilburn.  Go Fuzzbox

Looking at the Phillies depth chart I see they have a young
right fielder named Dominic Brown who I am not familiar with.
Was this the reason they could let Jason Werth go (along with
salary of course)?  Any comments on Brown?  I guess the Braves
will be facing alot of tough pitching next year.  We have a great
pitching staff, but it now looks paltry next to Halladay, Lee, Oswalt,
Hamels, Kendrick, and Blanton.  I think Joe Blanton is gonna have
a better season this year.  I am not sure, but it seems he had the
same bad luck as Kawakami did last year for the Braves.  Or Maybe
Blanton was injured but still pitching???

I feel bad for Kawakami - I think he's stuck in the minors and he's
been a pro player in Japan for several years.  Drag
