oh, btw, look up the orphans, who have a shop on manhattan ave (i think), if you want local parts/support. Sometimes it's really worth paying $150 or whatever to someone who can throw a new engine together and do it RIGHT. It will pay off in the long run.

I'm way into mopeds. Been building, workin on em for about three years now. If you live in a city in the USA it's pretty much THEE way to get around. Parts are very cheap, easy to work on, and because it has pedals you can park on the sidewalk. It's not very difficult to make em go fast. My Peugeot 103 is faster than my 90cc honda motorcycle, and I can fucking park it anywhere, and work on it on the fucking sidewalk with minimal tools.

One-time registration, insurance costs like $80 a year.

French top-tanks are the best. They have variated cluthces like scooters = fast acceleration up ANY hill. My bike was killing all the most expensive and 'coolest' puch magnums all throughout the last rally in Sept. 2-stroke = supreme power because of expansion-chamber exhaust pipes. The Peugeot TSM is tops over the motomarina I must say, just because peugoet aftermarket parts are cheaper and more versatile. AKA- yer gonna have to go AV10 on your sebring if you wanna see any real performance enhancement.

You know treatland.tv right? How about mopedarmy.com? those are the resources I use most of all 1977 mopeds is good too, but treats is in SF, so I can just stop off any get any part I need.

alright that's enough of this wussy moped shit. You live in SF or where?

oh, here's my bikes:

?Metal is given very extreme respect and great dignity in Botswana,? explains Mosaka. ?A metal gig here is like a religious ritual among the metallers, they become very, very delighted or even crazy sometimes whenever there is an upcoming gig. They will spend weeks preparing their leather pants, boots and other metal attire ? it?s like they are preparing for war! When the time to gig has arrived, they will make a straight line, move at the same pace, same step, quietly and gently marching to the gig. It?s like they are robots or their spirits are possessed by machines.?

WHOA  WHOA WHOA....is this the text from one of those animated "so you wanna...." cartoons that get traded around online? "So you wanna be a college professor," "So you wanna be a lawyer," etc.

Thinking about Exiled in pdx, you are gonna need some capitol, all those obscure, import re-issues they have that sell for $40 don't just sell for that much so they can have a wide profit-margin. And I bet starting out, people are gonna be less likely to give you their records on consignment, having no idea whether you'll sell em or if they'll ever see money/their records returned.

Also, Exiled runs a bit close to the 'museum' side of things, in that they have some great 'pieces' that I could never afford to drop the money to own. Do you already have a collection of awesome shit to start such a store?

Also, do you enjoy the "having a storefront" bit of it enough to pay out the ass what that might cost, cause you could always start by just doing a mail-order, wait till that gets some notoriety, and then open a storefront. I always saw a store as the last thing from a starting point.

When I used to sling records with my room mate, we talked about moving to an appropriate house, and opening a store in our living room. I still think that's an excellent strategy, although sort of illegal, I think.

I predict something like Morocco or Algeria, a secular state with lots of corruption trying to tamp down Islamic radicals.

they will simply become another islamic theocracy

BUT WHO DO I BELIEVE?!?!?!?!

It just feels silly to pay off all my credit card debt if we are going to be fucked anyway from medical debt.

I remember hearing a story from someone long ago who had medical debt. He didn't have insurance, broke a bone, whatever, had to pay off a massive bill. He said because it's medical debt, if you show you're unable to make large payments, it's possible to make absurdly small  payments, like, forever. And as I understand, if you're making regular payments, being in debt isn't necessarily bad for your credit score--- like, bad enough to prevent you from getting an apartment or job-- I think they just want you to be making payments.

Only Hinkley had a vision.

Hinckley.

He'd be down for that showing of Taxi Driver.

Wow, he's got the VISION, and the RIGHT LOOK.
