PIGZ EP rules hard!!!! Been busy jamming all the raers I got in Japan, but I had to listen to that ASAP. Will play the PF Commando in a bit here. PIGZ is a fantastic package, with obviously great tunes being the true draw. No brainer. Buy or cry.

Last night before bed:

Panic "13" LP
Picked up an OG for $30 or so at Disc Union. Is the song "Baby Please" really on the Sing Sing version? I sold my copy of the reissue, but I don't remember hearing that song before. It seems to me there's a different song on the SS, or one less song. Discogs says both versions are the same. Could be I'm still jet lagged and hallucinating.

Intimacy

commitment.

Throw in "failure" and you have the holy trinity of YS neurosis. Although one would think I would have gotten used to failure by now.

wow, Tommi fuckin' Ohrner gets a mention on Termbo  :o
good scores otherwise  :P

That Tommi Ohrner b-side is SICK!!! Sounds like a slick version of "Angela Angel Love" by Silver Laughter or something.

The Shamrock "It's My Love" 45

rad! how is this one?

A-side isn't that hot, but the b-side rules!!! It was their debut single released in 1988, but they'd been a band since the early 80's, opened for the Jam, played with the Badge, etc. The a-side reminds me of the later, more commercial Badge stuff, but the b-side is straight up mod powerpop. Definitely worth the 800 yen I paid for it.

EDIT: I met the dude from the Oranges/Shamrock at Poor Cow this past trip. He came  to the Cozy show at PC and seemed into it. He gave me an Oranges CD. Super nice guy.

Interesting post re: economics of record pressing in 2014 from Soriano.

I didn't even think that Death song on Staring Down the Barrel/No One Left To Blame -- forget which it was on -- was even any good. Can't for the life of me get what the fuss is about from a musical perspective.

I'd be into it if JT IV was alive and getting that kind of attention though.

The Wind's pretty good.  I got mixed feelings about 'em.  They're into Motown and Elvis Costello, which, you know... Not ideal, but the record's got charm.

Will give few more spin but i had in mind i was going to like it without trying but not really the case….

The only song I really like is "I Am the Garden." Other than that one song I don't see the appeal of the band.

Hermosillo's Brain Lapse thing on The Equals is required reading.  Pure fandemonium.
Jason from So What / The Easys is working on a book of Equals picture sleeves.  Not sure of the ETA.

"Brother, everything with my name on it was played with passion."

Temporarily reduced everything in price. Many good deals on great records left. I will be pulling this list on Sunday night since I don't plan to go to the post office before heading to the airport on Tuesday. If there's something you're into on this list, now would be the time to pull the trigger, since I'm dumping all this stuff on Discogs later next month at higher prices.

Thanks to everyone who has ordered so far!

Also, am I the only one here who thinks Roman Reigns is proving himself to be just another boring, flavor of the month hoss?

Yea, I think for all the pushing he's getting Dean Ambrose will still turn out to be the big star out of the group. I'd like to see down the line a Dean Ambrose / Luke Harper program. Is the plan for reigns to take the belt from Lesnar at Wrestlemania next year?

That seems to be the plan from what Dave Meltzer is saying. Of course a LOT can change between now and Mania, as last year's Mania being "the Daniel Bryan" show proved. If fans start to feel like Reigns is being shoved down their throats at the expense of more entertaining acts like Ambrose and a returning Daniel Bryan, I could see Reigns getting rejected in big way, with his segments getting the "Boo-tista" treatment and WWE having no choice but to take him out of the main event.

What I'm wondering is what they do booking-wise between now and Mania with Lesnar being on a limited schedule and him seemingly winning the title in a few weeks at Summer Slam. Can they book PPVs without a WWE title match, especially with the Network under-performing as compared with the company's initial projections?

I'm a Bo-liever as well. Really disappointed that they seem to be burying Cesaro now and that they didn't give Ziggler the IC belt, but instead went with the fucking Miz because he has a movie coming out that no one is going to see anyway.

Considering how weak the IC and US champions have been traditionally booked in recent years, I was almost glad to see Miz get the belt. I see this as step one to him proving himself a failure beyond a shadow of a doubt, and eventually getting the boot from TV/downgraded to a complete jobber role.

I have no idea what's up with Cesaro. WWE clearly recognized he was super over around the time of Mania, but having him drop the giant swing was a big mistake. Also, there's no reason for him not to be aligned with Heyman as long as he's going to be a heel anyway. The losing to Kofi twice/Big E thing seemed like they were going to have him win the IC title given WWE's backwards booking strategy when it comes to title challengers, but it was a relief he didn't get saddled with the millstone that is the IC title.

I don't think they've completely given up on him though, since he and Dean Ambrose were in a featured match on Raw, and both men were booked to be protected by the DQ finish.

Ambrose is so awesome. He feels like the new Stone Cold in a lot of ways, but he doesn't come across like an imitator in the slightest. His feud with Seth Rollins is by far the best thing the company has going for it right now.
