Jagielka misses England training with a knock. Rodwell pulls out of E-U21 with an injury. Moyes is bookies favourite to be the next Villa manager.  Pienaar is linked to Spurs.

The joys of being an Evertonian........

Heartbreaking. We had something like 18 corners, and threw everything at Villa. Can't believe we didn't get a point. Man Utd away next....great.

Yea, I was really feeling bad for Everton.  They really deserved at least a draw.  Is it just me or is it time for Fellaini to go?  I like his afro and the merchandising opportunities he offers but he's looked poor for quite some time now.

Man Utd are very beatable this season.   I think Everton could pull off an upset.

Absolutely not. Before his injury last year he was the best midfielder in the Premier League - I don't say that lightly either. He had a spell when he sat just infront of the back four where he was absolutely incredible.

Before that he had a lot of detractors (despite being the top scorer in his debut season), but he's a kid - he's only 22/23, and when he gets a bit of form he's totally class.

Fack off, I'm a football manager.

Van Persie is the new Darren Anderton.

Not looking forward to today. Villa away, after they just got stuffed by Newcastle - they will come out fighting that's for sure. Would take a point now if offered, but I think we may be lucky to get that.

The top 4 after 2 games won't be too far from the top 4 at the end of the season methinks.

my beloved Liverpool

BAN REQUEST

In other news, I'm still shocked that Bellamy stepped down to the Championship, he's got to be top scorer there, and  if Cardiff  don't get promoted then there is something wrong.

There were  rumours that Mancini said to him that if he doesn't apologise to him then he'll send him out on loan, and  Bellamy was supposed to have said, "Send me out on loan then. I'll be back in January, after you've been sacked." I hope this was true.

City fans have gone from fairly likeable people who support the less successful team in their city, to a bunch of arrogant a'holes. I find myself willing them to 'do a Leeds'.

Big Champions League date for Spurs today. And so begins the new era!

Or not. 3-0 down after 30 mins. I can't believe I'm reading this correctly.

Haha.  This is pure comedy gold.  My only regret is not putting money on Young Boys.  I had thought about it.  I'm sure the odds were 15:1.   The scum aren't going to be able to recover from this one.

Famous last  words. 3-1 now, and it's all Spurs. Tide is turning methinks :(

Was a poor game for Everton today. We always start poorly though, so to come away from Blackburn without injuries is perhaps a positive!

Rumours are that we may be getting Bellamy in on loan. Watch this space!

Also, got to say it's great to see my home town doing so well. Wigan 0 v 4 Blackpool is a ridiculous scoreline. I'm surprised Martinez hasn't gone already.

oh, and regarding the Neville comment. Phil is a really nice guy - does an awful lot for charity. I'd prefer him to be on the bench nowadays, but regardless he has been a brilliant ambassador for Everton on and off the pitch.

The best ever chant I heard was at an Everton v Man Utd game, when the chant was "Gary Neville shags his mum, shags his mum, shags his mum, Gary Neville shags his mum, Philllllll-ip doesn't".

Is Pienaar serious about leaving?   Are there any offers?  I haven't really followed but he's a favorite of mine.   I'd hate to see him leave the EPL.    He fits it so perfectly.

And can someone drop an anvil on the heads of the Neville brothers please?

Hard to say. His agent is a bit of a cock apparently, and he naturally wants his cut on any transfer. That being said - Pienaar is 28, so he basically has one more big money pay out I'd imagine. $$$ talks in this day and age, so if Pienaar did go then it wouldn't be the shock of the century.

That being said, Moyes rescued him from Dortmund, and Pienaar has said this many times before - he has a lot of respect for Moyes I don't doubt that.

With the other folks such as Arteta, and Cahill who perhaps had the opportunity to take one final big money pay cheque opting to sign long term deals with us (and perhaps seeing out their career), then Pienaar *may* be tempted to stick around.

I hope so, he stepped up when Arteta was out injured, and him and  Baines on the left are one of the best pairings that I've seen.

Strong news that the Yak is going to West Ham - I wouldn't be too upset to be honest, despite his goal scoring record I was shocked when Moyes picked him up, as he was never a Moyes-type player. If it happens we are being linked with Crouch (?@!?!) and Remy.  Naturally would prefer the latter (or Donovan if he wasn't so expensive) - the former would be a huge step back to Big Dunc longball days.
