and i also love "Starting Over" which sounds like sloppy and drunken Byrds, dont know why many people here seem to hate it.

agreed, I like "Starting Over" as well.  sloppy 12-string guitar.  catchy melody with bar-room singing.

Music Shit / Re: Question about vinyl quality

apparently Classic Records has gone to Clear Vinyl for their newer pressings.  (If you want to read a long blog post about it, go here - http://www.classicrecords.com/blog/index.cfm?archiveyear=2008&archivemonth=9 )

the short version is that the black coloring in black vinyl contains coal, or iron, or something like that, which over time naturally makes the record more magnetic.  of course, i read this a long time ago so if this isn't exact; don't shoot the messenger.

for me, i think the width of the grooves and the mastering/recording has more to do with it.  i think that's why when bands with some love for vinyl and a bit of major label pull put out a release, it's double 180g for a single record (i'm thinking Wilco and Neil Young, specifically).

As for the Dyna-flex, I think I have a copy of the Kinks Muswell Hillbillies and it definitely has volume.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: *HUNX & HIS PUNX*

NO DIRECT ORDERS FROM INDIVIDUALS, SORRY!!

so, does this mean we will be scrambling around trying to figure out which distro has the colored vinyl in stock?  I can't blame ya for how you want to run the biz (and i think you are putting out great records), but I love me the Rob's House angle of the colored vinyl going direct.

either way, i will be buying these.

didn't get on board until the Swami-released Fix My Brain.

Great live show.  I'm excited to hear the new record.

I think Fix My Brain is the best of their lp's so far.  I think the guitar lines and harmonies are a bit more fleshed out.  That said, sometimes I just like the first thing I hear by a band best.

from my understanding, James Brown asked his orchestrator of the time, Dave Matthews, to make an out (psych) record.  I believe the repress was done by scorpio, or something equally cheap.  should be a cheap pick up, and worth it if you like any of  the songs you've heard on the record.  I like it quite alright.

also, if you like the GW, check out James Brown's "Sho Is Funky Down Here".  I think it has some of the same members and is mostly an instrumental record, other than JB screaming "Huh!" and things like that now and then.

Cheers
