That sums it up soooooo well.
My friend and I DJed an after party for a roller derby game, and they kept requesting the worst shit ever, ie, ONLY joke songs like the Final Countdown, the THONG song, etc. They acted like we didn't get the joke.

I play roller derby.
I think the whole culture is toooootally lame for the most part, the girls are often highly irritating.
But it's really good exercise, better than going to the gym, and roller skating is SUPER fun.
Luckily my team is filled with non-hipster 35 year old mom types who are easy to deal with and intelligent.

The Ottawa show is gonna be SOOOO good!
The 27th is my birthday so technically....the show will kinda be on my bday. (And my twins!)
We are gonna have a joint-bday-afterparty at my house after, which will be a gongshow!
I am gonna make cupcakes, decorate the house, lock up the cats, buy lots of beer, and set up my record player downstairs.

Oh ya - I think there's gonna be a couple car loads of Ottawa people driving down for the show.
We're all really excited. I'm actually staying in tonight so I can rest up for the big weekend ahead! The White Wires are playing Sudbury tomorrow night... We'll see how that goes.

Mark, were you involved in putting on the Mtl show? If so that's awesome...
I consider myself lucky! Don't mean to complain.. The venue was very good in terms of sound, and actually really clean and nice, good staff, etc, no Sneaky Dee's though.
The TO show seems like it was perfect!

The show last night in Montreal was totally awesome. Weird venue though - very well-lit and probably too big, in my opinion. Emptier than it should have been. I think half the crowd had driven in from Ottawa.
My sister (Emily) said the Toronto show was totally fucking awesome. Wish I had gone to that one...
