Music Shit / Re: HOW PUNK WERE YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL?
« on: March 06, 2012, 04:13:25 PM »
I was not a punk in high school.  I was a fuckin' nerd.  I am a nerd, man...I met the friends I have now around 17 and they made fun of me for the first 2 years or so of our relationship.  Then I thought I was a punk, but now I realize that 17-20 was more my "fucking crazy" years.

I'm just glad to be a real person now!

Funny semi-related story.  Wabashtrash and k. crashing my "girl's night" my senior year.  Some how 10 girls ended up in tears, 1 said she was "sexually harrassed", huge hole in the wall of my 2 month-sublet, and I think one ended up making it to 2nd base!

Ju Suk Reet Meate - "Acnode One" LP

I haven't listened to this record in years, and it isn't how I remember it at all.  The warm quality of tape stream of consciousnesses collaging going on is really soothing.  This record almost puts me in a meditative state, in a good way.  Things sort of groove and move in an organic way.  Really glad no one bought this from me when I tried to sell it earlier last year.

Shit day.

Respiratory infection, denial of Chile residency, and failed exam.

I guess at least I have 2 days of excused school and a large bottle of Codeine.

Non-Music Shit / Re: More Kickstarter Bullshit
« on: February 23, 2012, 12:54:06 PM »
This thread gives me a stomach ache.  What about Kickstarters for people who really need it?  People who can't pay medial bills, student loans, or in need of food for their family.  I mean, making art can be hard work, and very expensive, but this shit is just depressing.

Finding a reasonable tube amp proves to be harder than finding a life partner.

Same Kraus?  If so, I am pretty sure it is an older guy who modulates and creates his own synths out in NZ.  Got the impression it was SOLO, but yr the professor, not me.  Yeah I owe you, bug me and I'll get you some of this stuff out your way.

I HAVE LARGE QUANTITIES OF KRAUS

Not the LP, but got a package from him with 4 CD-Rs, 4 tapes...some zines, some are Kraus, others are collabs...I'll look through what I've got.

HforR, does your course mention that he was a swinging young Hollywood producer at Original Sound Recordings in his earliest of pro-days, making savage rock'n'roll? Of course I'm talking about The Hollywood Persuaders (there was a full album in addition this and maybe three more singles at most):

I've heard his early singles "The Big Surfer" and "How's Your Bird" (which apparently charted to #2 in Mexico for consecutive weeks on the billboards).  And I'm very interested in watching "Run Home Slow" or "The World's Greatest Sinner", is this stuff even available to see?

And RE: MESH, we've learned about Little Feet as well.  I AM A GENIUS (on FZ), thanks college!

And this class is chronological, so 4 weeks in, we've heard about 5 of the early albums, so that is what I'm basing my FZ perspective on *because I know you all were wondering*

I've had that "Cruising For Burgers" song stuck in my head all day!
