It's on: May 1st, I need a joint. of the habitational kind. PM w/ any leads, offers, sightings, etc. Thanks.

walk around here and go into laundry mats, look at their bulletin boards. also pick up a copy of the paper 'ridgewood times' since people around here aren't too hip to craigslist.

Lived at 6 Mohonk in New Paltz NY for 3 years (maybe 3 months short of the whole time it exsisted). Kind of was a pop punk house and noise house with alot of local shows also. To many bands to list.  One of my favorites were Goverment Alpha playing one of his 6 US shows in the house. I remember liking Chinese Telephones alot also when they played. Right now they are the ones that stick out in my head.

god is that place still around? i went to new paltz and dropped in from time to time, my friend mike lived there...this was also, christ, 6 or 7 years ago

oh yeah and everyone there thought i was a douche. fuck em.

The "extreme croquet team" lives there now.

Hahaha yea yea Mohonk had alot of folks that didnt really want the house doing shows, some of the people in the house (including myself) got fed up with shows  when they had school shit or work shit going on. What Mike was it Borth or Vlad (Hope I am not forgetting any other Mikes that lived their its hard to keep track we had over 30 people live their in a 3 year span)

The house saw the last of the folks from that era move out in Summer 2006 (I think that was the year?).

Funny that its a Croquet house now. About 2 years ago I was up that way for a show and a few of us knocked on the door and asked to go see the basement and grab a little box of stuff we had stuck under a floor board. It was odd the house was clean and had new rugs and shit.

mike vlad. we went to high school together. love that dude.

I think I posted here awhile back about Asocial's "How could hardcore be any worse" demo, purportedly from '82 and absolutely fucking savage with unprecedented velocity. Think people are disputing the date, though...

it's not about when it was released, it's about who's heard it, ya know? i'm not disputing a date and if this is the case i give credit to where credit's due, but just how influential was it? i've been a fan of this type of music for about a decade now and i've never heard it.

and while we're on the subject of proto power violence (especially when taking into account the year of its release) i stand by agnostic front's united blood ep

So Infest are proto-power violence? They kinda, tempo wise, remind me of Heresy and Ripcord, but only way better.

I guess you could say that, but only in the sense that you could say the same for Heresy, DRI, Larm, SOB, Asocial, Deep Wound, Siege or anyone else pushing speed limits in the '80s.

totally. disjointed tempos, short songs, over the top pissed off vocals/lyrics...them and siege pretty much laid the groundwork
