more to come...ps, what's up with all the TAI THAI hate?? ive been in there at least a dozen times, and every time it's been great.

This place sucks, have you ever had decent thai food?

i'm not saying it's the best place ive ever dined at but its definitely not worthy of the shitstorm coming down on it that this board is partaking in. while we're on the subject the best thai food i've ever had was in Portland, OR at a number of places. i've been to about a dozen joints in the city, they ranged from good to great but none really stuck out enough to take note of. and none were really awful enough to go running around badmouthing either.

...if you like deep fried soy crap.

check out baby cakes on broome street for the only vegan* new york eatery in the city that I still look forward to going to.

*= not counting sri chinmoy veggie places in outer queens.

sorry if i don't like eating pastries 3 meals a day

INDIAN:

gandhi (345 E 6th street) - great food and excellent service since every time ive been in there it was dead

i cant remeber the name of it but there's a place across the street from it that has slightly better food at higher prices, however the time i went the waiter was bumbling and clumsy enough for me to never really want to go there again.

MEXICAN:

Fajita Sunrise
(59-24 myrtle ave, ridgewood, queens) - hands down the best mexican i've eaten since the west coast. the service is absolutely fantastic and there's a KILLER mariachi band there every friday night. it's a bit pricey, but worth every penny IMO. after dinner don't forget to ask for a flaming cockroach!
