I'm currently watching this board, and strongly considering changing the channel unless Richard does a take or Bajewka sez something funny.

That drumset is fucking bullshit. I don't care what Richard says about it.

It's just like the Modern Machines - I'll always be chums w/ them, but they SUCK and have no taste. John is in Bear Proof Suit now, though, and they're fucking great.

Yeah, totally - most of 'em are friends of mine, some are really good friends, too, but they're ridiculous when it comes to music and they contradict themselves all the time! I've caught Eric doing that a bunch of times, and he knows when he's fulla shit and just laughs about it. They're from Sheboygan - if you've ever been there (and I'm sure you've never had a reason to), you'd understand.

Yes, the same Shutups who hated "Rip Off shit" but were almost signed to the label and made a big deal about it and did a Problematics cover set around that time, the same Shutups who have had 37 different members, the same Shutups who have had Eric on bass, on guitar, just singing, Lugs on bass, Lugs on drums, etc., the same Shutups who were "Shutup" and pop punk, the same Shutups were have been a metal band, a Junk Records band, a Dwarves-style band, a hardcore (speed) band, the same Shutups who added an organ to get a Lost Sounds sound but hate Lost Sounds, the same Shutups. An enigma wrapped in a bratwurst.

Aluminum Knot Eye and the Mistreaters early (Circle A), then The Kind of Jazz Music That Kills and some "secret mystery band" that's supposedly a big deal at Riverwest Commons in Milwaukee. I like celebrating New Years with good bands and friends - it's a good holiday. Just hitting the bars sucks, but then again, that usually sucks (for me) anyway.

Weird - I got the one with the Neu cover this year. I figured that they were all over the place. So it was the second to last 45, then? Still a lot easier than the first few, and I'll bet the pressing was 500-1000, not 300.

I dig that fucker, too! It's because of the songs - great hooks! Fuck, did they turn awful awfully fast.

A-Frames concern: the Neu! cover which I heard once on DJ Rick's show and was totally fuckin righteous. I/We need this.

Lucky for you, I believe that this is the most recent A-Frames release, so it's probably a larger pressing, probably still available through some distros, and if not, Soriano probably has a few extra copies. Probably.

There are good BOC songs spread throughout the first few records ("Red and the Black" is a rockin' classic you should download if you haven't heard it - I think that was a Meltzer one).

I like Deep Purple "In Rock" a lot.  Well, parts of it.

Same here - if it were just riff rock, it'd be the best riff rock ever. Unfortunately, it's practically ruined by the idiot singer and the pointlessly extended organ solos (insert organ/cock rock joke). I actually went through a period a couple years ago listening to "In Rock" and a few other select Deep Purple moments at home (which I said I never do with this kind of stuff) quite a bit. When they hammered down on a riff.......man.

You'd probably just turn around and move to a place where it's always spring.
