The Bucks will be better than .500 - two years ago they were above .500 in TJ Ford's rookie season, but unfortunately, he got injured and hasn't played in a year & a half. He's come back this preseason looking better than ever, so if he can stay healthy, there's an all-star level point guard, an all-star guard (Redd), top pick in the draft (Bogut), NBA's "most improved player" last year (Simmons), and just a couple days ago they acquired all-star center Jamaal Magloire. Chemistry? Who knows. But they have real talent for the first time in a few years. The East is rough, though, and the new coach seems like a bum.
As for T&G, well, why not Clockcleaner, Pissed Jeans, Aluminum Knot Eye and Tractor Sex Fatality? Labels lose touch, change direction, and when good bands of the label's ilk start popping back up, the ear is no longer attuned to the underground. Same thing with Rip Off - labels with a "sound" need to avoid 5th gen retreads. The Spits, Reatards, Black Lips, Feelers, Carbonas, and many others would have been on Rip Off 8 years ago, but Greg was too interested in bands like the Atomsmashers.
Scott, what's yer take on Steve McKay (sax on "Funhouse") playing with one of the Violent Femmes at a Hanted House in Green Bay on Sunday? There's a charge, and I'm not sure that it'd be worth payment. On the other hand, it's potentially kinda cool. What should I do?
