Projectile shitting, you've been watching too much South Park. You must have been laughing your ass off as creamy sauce splattered the ceiling and shower curtains, huh? Huh? Isn't it universally hilarious? Then when you woke up on the floor, shivering, you crawled into the living room and turned that Taxi Boys lp up to 11 tuff guy, tell the truth.

I haven't blasted like that since I got food poisoning from the Indian place around the corner last year. I had a girlfriend who got zapped the DAY she left to roadie for a month-long tour, imagine shitting into a plastic bag in a tour van doing 70 on the I5.

Why is everyone around here sick? No pizza, wheatgerm Joey!

The draft timing doesn't matter, we can do it whenever. It's just that I lose my obsessive research edge as over-hyped frauds implode during the first week or two. But I can also drop Schmidt off my "buy" list and put Oliver Perez on there instead, so maybe it balances out. Shit, Soriano is just gonna draft anyone whose last name begins with an 'S' anyway, or just take everyone on the A's that others don't snatch up.

Bruuu Crue looks great, Molitor is ready to breakout, Yount is still great at SS, Gorman strikes out too much but he'll come around, as long as Fingers still has some gas left for the 9th, looks goooood.

Looks like the Bucs are going to get the right version of O. Perez this year, the left-handed "Pedro" version. They might go 82-80.

If that league draft had gone off, I would've been doing alright with my 1st scheduled pick, Mr. Albert Pujols. I think he's good for 50+ HR this year.

And Bonds looks like he'll be hitting balls into the seats all year. Maybe test him for carrot juice and coffee?

Bad Vugum - Liimanarina, Dr. Gunni, Sweetheart and Circle (the 1st Lp and the 7"s).

The dark horse are Death Trip, who put out 3 Stooges-obsessed 45s that would sound great alongside Unholy Swill, if you catch me.

This label probably produced as much hyperbolic, bullshit-filled reviews in American zines in the early 90s as any other Euro indie label you could name. I bought and dumped some mediocre jackoff stuff from here, so step lightly. But Liimanarina are justifiably one of the most underrated weirdo bands of the last 20 years. Get their lp on Drag City, the 7" are getting too hard to find.

If anyone has their live cassette, I've got a kidney I could probably live without.

Lamps...I saw Tar play at the og Kennel Club in 1991 or so, and it was like seeing a band cover their 'Roundhouse' album, the space is too big and boomy for their sound. They did get better as the set went on tho, but their Small Faces cover was kind of...why?

Black Lips, long time listener, first time caller. They were terrific, and I said the same thing Mitch said, but to Soriano: "It's great to see a band that's clicking on all cylinders at the early peak of their game." They know dynamics, they feel honestly excited to be playing, they can sing, they make mistakes and laugh at them, they are everything you want out of a live rock 'n roll band. That kid with the 'stache looks like a high school pot dealer.

Dirtbombs are now a little too Blues Hammer for my taste, but 'good at what they do'.

Giants games have Duane Kuiper for play by play (ez-breezy delivery, much made of his career MLB career HR total: one) and Mike Krukow who is a shameless Giants booster, rah-rah guy yaaaaawn. BUT his inside knowledge of the game is amazing, it's like having a pitching coach doing the color analysis, I've learned alot from listening to him about why pitchers throw a specific pitch, or why the manager has to pull a double switch, or the little tells that let you know when a player is out of gas etc. They also have the ESPN guy Jon Miller in for about 30 games a year.

The Brew Crew have been my sexy pick for months. It will only work if Weeks, Fielder and Jenkins all play above expectations, and that's always a tricky thing, but what the hell.

WHO WANTS TO JOIN A FIRST-TIMERS-DOMINATED FANTASY LEAGUE?
We have five, we need a few more to make it truly competitive.

The Giants have 20+ HR power from 5 positions. GG defense up the middle, c, ss, cf. Three strong starters. They win the division.

The Brew Crew will live and die with their starting four and their young players playing to their potential. I see Jenkins hitting 35 to pace 'em and Weeks ripping up the league. They take the Wild Card, behind the Cards.

Atlanta and the Mets battle all year, it's a toss up. Florida has actually looked really good with their young, fast players.

Do they still play games in the other league?

THE BLUE MASK - crap. strike one

You Stupid Old Horrid Little Man, this is a really good record, his last decent record. He lets Robert Quine take over for long stretches on this.

Okay, which band had/has the best obviously gay frontman? And don't say Judas Priest,Horrid Little Man.

The Eagle has been a gay bar for alot, lot longer than it's been a live venue. There have been many great shows there over the last five years or so, and there will never be a noise complaint, they are tucked almost underneath the 101 freeway, next to industrial/commerical buildings. And since it's a gay bar, the drinks are poured STRONG.

No, see, the trick is to file openly saying "I owe nothing". If you just don't file at all, or 'knowingly' underreport by so much as a dime, then they can come after you prison-style. This guy did everything with legal advice, the gov just went after him anyway for the back taxes, garnished his wages, eventually took the house. It, uh, didn't work. BUT, they can't get him for evasion because he DID file the returns, all they can do is dispute the amount and rake you over the coals to get it.

I thought the 'no tax' idea was stupid and selfish anyway, BUT...I do think the IRS is historically a pit bull without a leash, a tax collecting agency from the Middle Ages with no limits as to what they could/can do to people, totally out of control. It's not as bad as it used to be, but they still have literally the power to make rules up as they go along, almost Mafia-style. i support paying your taxes because you do get something for the trouble, but the IRS is a borderline criminal enterprise at times. And very biased in favor of rich clients, duh, what a shocker.

What happened to your parents is typical. See, in a court of LAW you are innocent until proven guilty. In the Tax Courts, it's the reverse, you have to try to prove the IRS wrong. Shouldn't the IRS have to PROVE what your parents made in Russia, instead of just sitting down at a Starbucks with a case file and making up their 'income' out of the blue? It's like being in a terror court.

THAT is a case of you subsidizing the third or fourth Bahamian vacation homes of our friends in the investment banking industry. Did you know that the tax rate for millionaires in the 1940's was something like 70%, they were being forced to pay for WW II, which was fought on their fucking behalf anyway. We currently have a lower tax rate for our upper classes than any other industrial country, by far.

If you get a check for $100 with nothing withheld, throw $25 in a coffee can and forget about it. That's what I used to do.

For $1/hour, considering the hassle, I would just volunteer if it's an option. They are probably subjecting you to way more hassle because they are 'paying' you. The only reason to stay is if you are angling for advancement, in which case you just have to go through the 'paddle tunnel' and smile.

That whole 'there's no actual tax law' thing to escape paying taxes is total B.S. I happen to know someone who's losing their house next month to the IRS for trying that route, it's a fool's game. He filed his taxes, saying 'I owe zero' and no judge would hold for him. They won't imprison you, but they'll take everything you have. Although I think they DO have a case with the lack of constitutional validity, no judge will touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Anyone who resents paying taxes, try to picture the world if everything was totally privatized: roads, water, the police, parks, etc. Fucking nightmare. A toll booth at every on ramp, contracting with the police for house-by-house protection, or $5 to walk through a park after work to look at the flowers. You can 'monetize' anything, after a while you can come up with a perfectly market-driven reason to reintroduce slavery or the mass euthanization of handicapped children (sorry ma'am, can't ask the taxpayers to subsidize this kid with twisted-up legs, here's your $100,000 bill for treatment. Oh, can't pay? We'll take care of the body disposal for only $600! This week only! See, with the market you have a choice!).

I love paying taxes.

For an experience similar to Debord may I recommend 'Exterminating Angel'? It's still floating around on VHS only.

Soriano, what's your take on Pekinpaugh?

It's sort of easy Mr. Won't-Play-LF-for-the-Nationals-Soriano. You know the basic concepts, the trick in fantasy baseball is to pick guys who don't get hurt and to pay close attention to the baseball rumor mill, ala: "The Pirates today put their crap No. 5 starter on waivers and called up a nobody from AA who is 9-2 with a 2.20 era. Mr. Crap stated that the Pirates were a s--- team that can eat my s---" Or: "Barry Bonds returned to SF for another MRI on his ailing knee" = time to draft Randy Winn. A player on a SHIT team can put up great fantasy numbers, it's whoever gets the playing time.

It's like drafting Baron Davis in an NBA league for cheap, knowing that you gotta dump him in Feb when he starts to break down, so you TRADE him to a chump in your league before his ankles explode and pick up Monta Ellis for nothing because his playing time is about to go to 20 minutes/game.

Yup.
