Pop Punk / RICHIE RAMONE "SMASH YOU" DEMO?
« on: April 23, 2010, 09:17:33 AM »
Does anybody have an MP3 of the version of "Smash You" with Richie Ramone on vocals? It was on YouTube forever but sadly got taken down and I would love to hear it again.

Hello sincere music enthusiasts,

We are now taking orders on the new twelve inch by The Girls At Dawn.

CT-033: THE GIRLS AT DAWN S/T 12" EP

Right on the the heels of their debut 7" on HoZac comes this 4-song
12" EP. Drawing from post-punk, psychedelic and 60's pop influences,
these three girls from Brooklyn make haunting melodies bridged with
there/not-there ghostly arrangements.

Available for purchase at http://capturedtracks.com/releases.php

On press now, shipping next week.

CT-033 Led Er Est 12" (Lunatic, freak-synth, perfect for gritting your teeth and flipping out in those chilly months.)
CT-035 Wild Nothing 7" (Teenage indie-pop anthems. Basement and stadium friendly. As seen on popular music/devil resource "Pitch Fork Media".)

Hello gum-chewers and bile-spewers,

I'd like to announce the release of six new records on Captured Tracks, and one old favorite in a new and fantastic format.

CT-025 -  THE BITTERS 7"

"East" is the next installment of the Bitters story. Featuring Ben Cook of Fucked Up/Young Governor and the great voice of Aerin Fogel, The Bitters "cave pop" is doomy as it is infectious. Coming live soon to a theater near you.

CT-026 - GANGLIANS 7"

If you liked the 12" EP and LP by these Sacramento weird-poppers, then you'll love this, their first non-split 7". Two equally amazing tracks, and in our opinion, two of their best.

CT-027 -  THE OH SEES - DOG POISON LP/CD

We are proud to put out a full-length record by the prolific Oh Sees, and boy, is this one a monster. More layered and textural than previous Oh Sees releases while keeping all the typical Dwyer punch,
oomph and weirdness. 10 fantastic new songs, terrifying pencil-drawn sleeve. Our second LP release, and we couldn't be more pleased with it.

CT-028 - SPECTRALS 7"

A young British man named L. singlehandedly produced this dreamy, Sonic Flower Groovy fuzz-pop stomper, although it sounds like it could have been recorded at Gold Star in 1965 for release on Creation in
1985. Two tracks, one million hooks. We're really proud to be putting this out in anticipation of a 2010 Captured Tracks LP.

CT-029 - CHRISTMAS ISLAND 7"

Two song seven inch about the pits and perils of ages Nineteen and Twenty-Nine, respectively. Part Flying Nun, part Bubblegum. This coincides with a fantastic upcoming LP release on In The Red. One of
our favorite bands.

CT-030 - THE GERMAN MEASLES - WILD 12" Maxi-EP/Mini-LP

Out of control, drugged up, fucked up madness from Brooklyn's premiere party freaks. Almost the polar opposite of this spring's cassette release - these songs are confident, insane and beautifully recorded
by Gary Olson. Some sort of funky mix of The Soup Dragons, Black Randy, Protex and The Fall had they recorded for Bhudda. All the subtlety of Sonny Bono trying to barge his way into a restaurant while
wearing a fur vest. Features 2/4ths of the legendary Cause Co-Motion!

CT-010-1 THE BEETS "SPIT ON THE FACE OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO BE
COOL" CD

The instant classic Beets LP, now available on the popular "CD" format. The songs you love, available for listening to in cars, shower radios, etc. These guys are currently blazing their way across the States on the "Nightmare of Sound" tour with the Vivian Girls. (Check out the promotional tour video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rTvnBG-gO8) The inlay and disc contain all new Matt Volz artwork, featuring even more professional wrestling, gore and disrespect for people who don't want to be cool.

This should be available around the week's end at http://capturedtracks.com. Watch this space. Distros, please contact me at info@capturedtracks.com for wholesale inquiries.

"I'm warning you with peace and love",

This is the thread for talking about that crazy cool band, Alien Ant Farm. Does anyone here have a copy of the AAF/Reatard split? I will pay big money for it, serious offers only, thanks.

Hello friends,

Please come to this show. The fantastic and impressive Box Elders are playing, along with my band, Oh Wow, who will be playing our first, testament-to-professionalism show. Also on the bill are Uzi Rash.

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

We've had a lot of questions regarding the new twelve inches we have released. Well, they're finally for sale.

CT-020: BRILLIANT COLORS 12"

Combining the out-of-print Make A Mess 7" and our out-of-print 7" with one new track. A great place to start if you missed either of those items. These ladies were amazing on the fourth and we're really excited to make these songs available again. Hypnotic, un-twee indie pop. The real deal. Includes one fantastic new track, "I Start With Your Name".

CT-021/WOODSIST 033: MAYFAIR SET "YOUNG ONE" 12"

A co-release with the amazing Woodist organization. The Dum Dum Girls/Blank Dogs collaboration continues. Six amazing new songs - a big jump from the single. Fresh from their first live appearance. Like the Cocteau Twins and Charles Manson getting in a bar fight and embracing afterwards. Beautiful, beautiful full color sleeve and labels.

NO LABEL: ACOUSTIC FAMILY CREEPS "LIVE IN THE WOODS" 12"

We have acquired distro copies of this mysterious Woods bootleg. Four beautiful acoustic versions of "Rain On", "Twisted Tongue", "To Clean" and "The Number". One sided, white label twelve inch with a pasted-on cover image. Very limited, origins unclear.

All the records are available at http://capturedtracks.blogspot.com/.

With the last batch, we took orders after receiving a completion date from a pressing plant, which was repeatedly not met. The records ended up arriving much, much later than expected and we (understandably) had a lot of unhappy customers. With these batch, the records are actually in our possession. We waited until everything was completely ready and all previous orders were shipped to list these for sale. Unless we both fall into unexpected comas, these records will ship next week.

Attention skeptics: Here are two horrible pictures of me with the records to prove they actually exist:

Also, to make up for the miserable wait on the last batch, we're offering these at the discounted price of $10.00 each until July 30th.

Regarding the mix cd-rs that did not go out with our last batch: We had an unfortunate encounter with a crooked duplication plant who ruined our plans of having the discs ready with the next batch. If any customers who purchased the last batch order these or any other items from us, we will happily include a copy of the mix CD. Please contact capturedtracksorders@gmail.com with the subject "CT-019 MIX CD-R" and include your name in the body of the message and we will include your CD with your order. Apologies for the delay.

We'll probably post the mix to Rapidshare in the next week or so for everybody's enjoyment.

If you have not received items from the last batch, please contact me at capturedtracksorders@gmail.com. Almost everything is out at this point, so people should be getting their records in the next two weeks.

Coming soon: Seven inches by Spectrals, The Bitters, Beachniks, Juan Wauters and twelve inches from Grass Widow, Gary War, Mutating Meltdown and the amazing German Measles.

Out sometime around the end of the month on Captured Tracks, our first full-length release:

CT-010 THE BEETS "The Beets Spit In The Face Of People Who Don't Want To Be Cool"
http://www.myspace.com/thebeetsbeat
$13.00

Debut twelve-track LP from these proud sons of Jackson Heights, Queens. Sprung from seemingly nowhere to playing constantly in Brooklyn. Shades of Los Mockers, Chicos Electricos, pre '65 Stones, early Ramones and Shimmy-Disc era Daniel Johnston. I saw these guys almost start a riot at a Fashion Week event and then proceed to party down with Mickey Rourke. Absolutely amazing.

Beautiful full-color sleeve by Matt Volz. There may be a limited hand-colored tour-only edition.

This won't start shipping for a few weeks, just a heads up. We've also put up a new PayPal store on our MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/capturedtracks
