Non-Music Shit / Re: pot vs booze

Oh, and not to mention weed is actually GOOD for you, as opposed to booze. But, shows and parties are more fun when you are drunk, sooo.....

I dont thinks its "Good" for you. I mean anytime smoke enters your lungs, there is damage. Still, I do think weed is less bad for you than booze and it won't (by itself) turn you into a fatty.

I've always wanted to get my hands on a copy of Unicorn. Do ya'll know if it's any good?

Its perfection. Maybe the high water point in the brit psych-folk idiom. I love it.

The second set sounds great. Wonder if they'll have time to do it. It looks like everyone has to clear out at 10.

Alright, who went last night? How good/bad was it? Will I need to drink a lot of beer or the normal amount?

This movie is great. The clip of Albert playing Coltrane's funeral is mindmelting.

I still have never been to Astoria but I hear it's nice.

I used to live in Long Island City though and would give it an A+ in the yuppie take over category.

Astoria is nice, but it ain?t cool and that?s a good thing. It also doesn?t run the yuppie risk that screwed over Park Slope and LIC cause its so entrenched with various old world types.  That also means we got good good grocery stores.

Come play America sometime soon...please!!

Agreed! You guys where great last time. Besides, the tape I bought off you destroyed my tape deck after the fourth or so listen. Not pissed about the tape deck, but I need me more tapes!

New Clear Days has tons of really good songs(Trains, Spring Collection, 6 o clock News etc).

Don't forget "Waiting For the Weekend." I used it to woo my current girlfriend.

New Clear Days is a great record and all, but Magents has the good songs too. That song Spiders is top shelf.

7 inches with flaps are by far the most annoying.

Music Shit / Re: Conducted Improvisation?

Saw a Christian Marclay thing where he used a video as a score and the musicians were supposed to interpret and improvise.  Results were a mixed bag.

I think Frank Lowe has done some stuff like this. Lowe and Behold certainly has that feel.

Not sure if it'll help, but when I worked at a used bookstore I would sometimes play that John Coltrane Ascension. It got the best complaints. e.g.: "This sounds like a elementary school concert. I should know Im the superintendent"
