For anyone who's interested in Jeremy Earl I recently picked up his book from Not Not Fun. No 12", but nice book/quality printing and worth picking up if you're a fan. Psyched for both of these Captured Tracks releases - is there a Shawn Reed one in the works by any chance too?

That Inhalants single was a killer, especially the incredibly infectious Middle Ages tune. Lots of cool stuff coming out of Texas at that time (early Sugar Shack, Motards, Lord High Fixers), but this was one of my favourite singles, the other probably being the Shut Your Face (volume 1) comp.

All of these were really fucking good, most surprised by how much I dug the V Girls one. Zola Jesus is obviously great, but the Tamaryn LP is incredible, aesthetically as well - it's so nicely done.

I second that. I picked up most of these, but that Tamaryn LP is surprisingly my favourite. Yep, like that gold embossing/packaging too = great stuff.

Farenheit 451, Quiet Earth and Sleeping Dogs, all really really enjoyable.

Doing a research project on different ideas of utopias and dystopias, can anyone recommend any other films that deal with this type of thing? Seen some of the more obvious stuff like 1984, but judging by this thread seems like some of you dudes know waay more about obscure films than I do.

Monty Buckles hipped me to Le Dernier Combat. Well, worth seeking out.

I'd definitely recommend 'The Bothersome Man' (Norwegian for memory), which came out a couple of years ago - a dystopia film of sorts, more in the vein of 'Quiet Earth' (and a must see if you like that film).

If you like 'Bladerunner' (and who wouldn't) and the whole cyberpunk genre, the 'Max Headroom' pilot and TV series from the 80s, still hold up pretty well today.

And don't forget those Governator classics like the 'Running Man' and 'Total Recall' either.

...and glad you liked my cover too - hope you like the rest of the tape.

I think I bummed out with the couple who flaked early on this one, but I was really digging Sam's selection when I got it a few months back - thanks for putting me on to Ducktails (what you think of Predator Vision?) and Yussuf Jerusalem (I don't know why I snoozed on this, which no one seems to have any more).

Any option for your fellow country folk to paypal in Australian dollars too Dan? Not really a fan of sending well concealed cash in the mail. Yep, only got a couple of issues but a great read.

Comet Gain - I thought their 7" from last year was pretty good - don't know what the rest of their stuff's like though.

The eighty five bears (http://www.myspace.com/theeightyfivebears) - I saw these London guys support The Enablers last year and they impressed me, although their name and myspace tunes don't really do them justice, but they were great live.

My local record hole will not get enough of these to save me one. Is there another way to get one other than ebay?

I pre-ordered this at the same time I picked up something else from this place in the UK: http://www.banquetrecords.com/index.jsp?item=10588. First time I've ordered through these guys, but they seem pretty good. Got my other thing very promptly and a hand written note to say the Reatard/SY split will be sent when it arrives, so can't argue with that.

One of the Lone Wolf and Cub movies - 'White Heaven in Hell' maybe? As to nipple eye, the crazy orgy scene from 'Society'?
