Music Shit / Re: Best & Worst Distros/Labels
« on: August 02, 2013, 06:59:21 AM »
I know Katorga's been getting a bad rap here, but the dude finally replied to my emails today - like a few of you, I've been waiting on my Toxic State comp too. Anyway, he's promised to send me my recs, so if you're still waiting for yours I'd suggest emailing him.

In re: to other distros, since Bistro (I miss him too), Fusetron's generally been my one stop shop for a long time now; great guy, great service, long holds and he carries nearly everything I need.

Permanent is also top notch. They put the effort like no other into their regular newsletter, which they should be commended for. Been a while between orders, but SS has always been great too - just waiting for that Panonski to hit my inbox and I'll be rectifying that.

Enfant Terrible is my favourite label/distro for the weirder electro/wave stuff .

Just wanted to say, seller is indeed a true gentleman - did everything right by me, above and beyond what you'd expect from any seller! If he still has anything good left, I recommend BIG TIME.

Emailed, including lots of Slicks wants (don't care if they're on CD either, I've wanted some of em for too long). That seems way too cheap for the Junkpile Jimmy 2LP BTW!

^ Good stuff, will do - thanks

Slept.  Need.
Me too. Are these all accounted for in pre-orders and if not any distros gonna be carrying?

up on the bigcartel page.  order away!

Ordered from the Chief here in OZ earlier today. I haven't been this excited about an AA re-lease in a while, and the next installment, Dark (?), sounds pretty darn good too. That obi strip's a nice touch also; no shortcuts on this one - good job 'machupicchu', looking forward to seeing what's next.

Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet LP
Anibal Velasquez Mambo Loco LP - I'm not much of a dancer, but I'm pretty sure you'd sweat yourself to death if you tried to keep up with this one.
Remolino de Oro comp LP
Banque Allemande New one with a long title about Chinese somethingorother auf Deutsch that I'm too lazy to look up right now - fine stuff.  I like it better than the first one.
Spray Paint LP
Mil Mascaras 7"
Mordecai LP on Killertree.  Great, eager to hear the new 'un.
"New" Dadamah single - A side's fine, in a similar vein to the LP.  B-side's a rough version of what would be a Flies Inside the Sun song later on.

Ordered that new Dadamah single the other day - sounds great - I couldn't commit to Montgomery's latest solo effort though. I am curious, the Dadamah LP you're referring to, is it still get-able? Nada on Discogs either, not even the CD version.

Good call on the Mordecai LP too: very underrated album.

And just in case it gets missed in the other thread... Anyone know of any upcoming shows in SF on 9 and 10 September? The annual SF Electronic Musical Festival (the Sat night with Area C) looks kinda promising - anyone been to these in previous years who can vouch for this event?

WHITE WIRES
September 2 - LA - Blue Star - w/the Wrong Words, the Clorox Girls, the Mean Jeans

Is this right? I thought The Intelligence were playing at Blue Star on the 2nd: http://fla.vor.us/1102050-Psycho-Beach-Party-tickets/Psycho-Beach-Party-Los-Angeles-Blue-Star-September-02-2011.html

Oh, and is there anything else worth checking out in LA that weekend? I'm not from LA but will be there between 2-4 September if anyone has any upcoming show tips for an outta towner.

I could of sworn I saw Bob - 'The Things That You Do / Thomas Edison' 7" on the Goner site the other week. Guess I snoozed for too long - any more copies coming back into the store at all?
