Music Shit / Re: FREE John Wesley Coleman III "Steal My Mind" mp3's
« on: July 13, 2011, 07:09:08 AM »
Maybe Goner didn't make enough money from all those ECSR lp's and they felt they had to involve themselves in Certified PR's business...

I have always treated the artists I've worked with like family and I always try to keep their best interest in mind, even if it isn't necessarily in my best interest.

Money has never been Certified PR's bottom line. I've lost plenty of money putting out records that I actually like.
UNLIKE Goner who obviously only cares about turning a profit and will continue to release college indie rock records.

I would do anything to help further Wes as an artist EXCEPT allow myself to be bullied by the likes of Goner and allow them to profit from a project they had NOTHING to do with.

This could have been worked out amicably but it didn't because I was tired of being jerked around for a few dollars.

Without getting into the legal aspects of things, one would think that "friends" wouldn't shit on each other for a few dollars.

I don't understand why Goner would even bother with "Steal My Mind".

The sales aren't that impressive.
I use the same major distro (Revolver) as Goner.
The LP is still in print on Certified PR and will remain in print on Certified PR as long as there's a demand for it...

What is Goner really going to gain by doing this, other than deter potential vinyl sales from Certified PR.

Wesley has released numerous records on numerous labels other than Goner.
Will they try to strong arm Daggerman for his upcoming LP or Way Out There for the 12" that they're doing?

I can't sit here in my comfy chair and quote you sentence by sentence of pissing and moaning. So here it goes with a number system which I am sure you can figure out real easily.

1: Bringing up ECSR lps and how many Goner has sold is a "gay" low blow. They re/issued record they like. To bad other people liked them. The mighty PR dept at Goner is an Evil Empire.

2. Maybe Wes's best interest was to go with a label which could provide a better distribution then you

3. This is too fucking dumb to respond to. I've seen Gonerfest grow from a handful of people to a packed club in Memphis...that P.r Dept sucked in 05 and really sucked putting out Jays record in what 05/06

4. Couldn't come up with a good enough reason for Wes to stay

5. Money and friendship are two different things. Welcome to the Adult World.

6. They wanted to "Steal this record"

7. Your being a bitch and maybe should man up instead of crying on a message board like a wronged woman

1. You are "gay".
2. Obviously.
3. Agreed, they sucked then and still suck.
4. Is every label Wes has ever worked with gonna have to "come up with a good reason" to not be strong armed?
5. Words of wisdom, spoken by a true philosopher.
6. No shit.
7. YouR'E a bitch and you'll be crying like a wronged woman after I "man up" on you.

you talked me into it...

I'm a fan of the Pizzas and Florida's Dying, but I agree with Officer Officer Brad.
People seem to be missing his point.
This record is rather shitty.
I own a copy and it's my least favorite Pizzas record.
Rich usually puts out really good records, this might not be one of them.
***BUY THE NEW SLEAZE 7" ON TOTAL PUNK!!!!!****

Stop bitching about weiner sizes and buy some John Wesley Coleman cassettes so I can put out The Onions "Fat Fuck" 7" already!!!!!

Goner Records has decided that they want to sell John Wesley Coleman III's "Steal My Mind" LP digitally on itunes or amazon or whatever.

I asked them not to but they lawyered up.
Yes, seriously!!!

Don't give Goner any money for "Steal My Mind", you can download the entire record from Certified PR Records on Soulseek.
Username: Certified PR Records.

Due to the surprisingly high demand for this release we ran out of Bon Jovi cassettes to tape over so we had to buy some new swanky Sony 90 minute cassettes at Walmart. (There goes our profit margin!!!!)

We'll leave the approx. 20 minutes of space at the end of each side blank for y'all to record your favorite jams on...

All orders still come with a free cd-r.
37
We still have copies of Wes' "Steal My Mind" LP in stock as well as his "Summer Of '79" 7" EP on BoomChick and "Bad Lady Goes To Jail" LP on Goner.
Certified PR is getting copies of the JWC/Followed By Static 12" on Way Out There Records too...
BUY BUY BUY!!!!

In the summer of 2006 John Wesley Coleman and a small group of Austin musicians stopped at the BoomChick Records HQ in Lincoln, Nebraska.
An LP's worth of songs were recorded but only four of the songs were officially released (as JWC's "Summer Of '79" EP).

In 2009 while Certified PR was working on releasing Wes' debut LP, "Steal My Mind", Wes sent us a disc with the entire 2006 Lincoln Sessions.

Wesley told us that he wanted Certified PR to release the recordings on a cassette tape.
Wesley gets what Wesley wants... and now you can have it too!

The A-side of the record (I thought) all along was supposed to be "Suicide" and at the last minute Choyce sent over "Crawlspace"... you're right - WHAT A FUCKING MONSTER!!!!!!
