The first album is unlistenable.  2nd and 3rd albums kinda rock in some spots. And that '13 monsters' song is hilarious.

I disagree - 1st album is their absolute best!  "Gateway" album for me.

seeing alot of the early load bands made a big impression on me at the time (2000-2002). not only lightning bolt but necronomicon, usaisamonster, noxagt (with pengo), vaz, sightings, friends forever

SO FRIGGIN' GOOD I COULD CRY!! I frequent Saigon on Larkin(here in SF) literally everyday... sometimes twice in one day... I can't get tired of 'em!!!!! I wash 'em down w/ coconut juice aka God's Nectar(i no longer crave coffee 'cos of it)!!!

I've been getting the grilled chicken ones all week... I'll prolly go back to meatball soon though.

For those of you who aren't "in the know", a Vietnamese sando consists of:
ROLL
SOME CRAZY-GOOD SAUCE
MEAT OR TOFU
SHREDDED CARROTS
ONIONS
JALAPENOS
CILANTRO

ESSENTIAL!  I'm drooling right now.  The cucumber/jalapenos/cilantro mix and the bread = awesome.  I like the potato-chicken-carrot-curry filling the best.

"You Will Never Play This Town Again" by Harry Pussy.  A total winner start to finish but Velvet Pussy and MS20 are particularly awesome.

"A Day Late and a Dollar Short" by the Queers.  The live set at the end rips.  "I spent the rent" is a personal favorite.

"Mit Weisse Westen Dreck Am Stecken" by The Rough Bunnies - love the songs, especially "Tango in the Night," but the packaging and physical quality of this record (purchased "new") is terrible.  The label is off center, the edges of the record are jagged and little pieces keep breaking off and scratching it, the B side is labeled as the A side, and the sleeve is a mutilated, inside-out recycle of a thrift store record jacket with photocopies poorly glued on each side.  But really, the jagged edges are the worst.  Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

Found a copy of the Skulltones Kurt Vile 7" while browsing through a local record store - love the A side!

gun outfit 7" on PPM
