"Marshall Mathers will open Saturday Night Football. Mathers, it's a pleasure to have you." -Musburger. He then asked Eminem if the Lions will cover 4 1/2 against the Vikes tomorrow.

Ravens' linebackers looked good, everything else was bad. Still think they're a playoff team.

Worried about the NY Giants. Secondary is a bit of a mess, not sure how Cory Webster still has a spot on this team. Their 3rd down back is out with broken leg, JPP might play on Sunday but won't be 100%, and same with Cruz.

Anybody watch this year's Hard Knocks? Hope to see John Conner get scooped up by a team.

Imagine a Lydia-type woman is partly responsible for 50% of North Korea's population being addicted to meth. In heels.

A big fuck you to katorga works...ordered the ground zero hardcore comp over 3 months ago....I've seen dude on tour with bloodkrow butcher emailed him 5 times with not one Goddamn response and still no record. True punk label and distro.

Exact same thing happened to me. Had to re-order it from soap and spikes.

Yeah I held out for awhile, then just ordered it elsewhere. Could have just bought it from nomad when they came thru town and supported one of the actual bands from the comp. instead this fuck gets it.

They go on tour and rely on roommates/friends to post shit and it never gets done. I waited a few months for them to send out Hank Wood/Crazy Spirit records. I'd say keep emailing..

More:

Mad Nanna LP/7"es
The Lost Domain LP
Ragtime Frank LP
Exhaustion LP
Hammering The Cramps LP
Drunk Elk LP
The Native Cats LP/7"es

The "Wings over Gabba" comp is a real treasure/favorite.

There's at least one good if not great Blank Realm record.

Has anyone heard the new Sewers LP?

Miss getting new issues of NGL and reading about all this stuff.

Devils got out of a $100 mil contract. Lou threw a party somewhere in Newark. Could see them trading for Vanek or Phaneuf.

Alan Bishop on Byron Coley:

"Byron used to be a hockey player. He played left wing in some distant micro-regional sub-tundra league long forgotten until he received a concussion from his coach who skated into him backwards. In fact it was rumored that he was one of the original Hansen brothers (immortalized in the film Slapshot) before taking up squash, then lacrosse, and finally, footnoting, which we’ll get to, post-academically, in a minute or two."

"This guy sucks so much that he might end up on LTIR and not count against our cap!"- Saddest fanbase in the world.

Whether or not LTIR counts against cap depends on player's age when contract was signed.

Clarkson could be this year's Ville Leino or Officer Brad Richards. Just two years into those contracts and Sabres/NYR would love to get out of 'em. But teams know the cost of dipping into the free agency pool. If Leafs can get three quality years out of a power forward who will be relied on for his "intangibles", the buyout in year four will be tolerable.

Carlyle forced Grabo into playing a shutdown type of game. He even spent time on the 4th line. Agree that Bozak should be the one leaving and/or Liles should have been bought out instead. He's almost a lock to have a great season as a 2nd line center this year. Loved hearing him rip Carlyle.

Clarkson's term sucks but the actual dollar amount is a lot less than he could have got from Edmonton/Ottawa. He wanted to play in Toronto, talked about growing up in a Wendel Clark jersey. I want at least 45/50 points from him this year.

Leafs gave up a lot of speed in Frattin/MacArthur/Grabo, created a goalie controversy by getting Bernier, and haven't properly filled center ice or defense positions. Still a lot of work to do.

Red Wings are in same division as Ottawa this year. Gonna be interesting.

Liked the signings Edmonton made.
