I don't think you sounded whiny, just tellin like it is. I can't believe so many clubs have shut down. I only ever went to the Cattle Club and the Loft, but I remember all of those names from hearing them on the radio all the time.
I think all cities struggle with the all-ages thing, some are more willing to work it out, sounds like Sac not so much, which is a shame.
Between 1995 & 1998 I went to a ton of 18 and up shows at bars in SF, and it was awesome. I always assumed it was like that everywhere, but I realized people aren't so lucky when I moved to Seattle a few years ago.

I knew this compulsive liar who used to work with my roommate and I was reading "The Complete Works of Martin Luther vol. 16" or something like that for a research paper and the dude asked me what I was reading so I held up the book to show him and he says, "Oh yeah, I have that. I love it." It's not like I held up a copy of the DaVinci code, buddy. The shit that some of these people make up shit about is unbelievable!
My cousin married a compulsive liar/sleeze-bag/used car salesman. We were hanging out with him for the first time around Christmas '06, and some cheesy soft rock infomercial came on, the one hosted by Air Supply, and he busted out with, "I hung out with Air Supply in Reno. Cool guys." We were all like, "Whaaa?!?!?!"

I went high school in El Dorado Hills, and I gotta say, this thread just made my day. We used to go to the Cattle Club, that's long gone right? Like a year ago, I was in Sacramento and saw Jerry Perry at some pizza place at like two in the morning. I was a little drunk and was like, "Hey! Jerry Perry!! Cattle Cub!" Awesome.
