Pop Punk / Re: Best band while baked?
« on: March 19, 2009, 11:23:53 PM »
These are like total leg freakouts as soon as music comes within ear range of me whilst baked, the rest of my body would act totally normal, I guess I get the shakes too easily, I normally end up having to hold on to the walls of my friends garage and slowly push and work my way around the rooms from wall to wall till I find a nize cozy place to snooze.

I agree on everything sounds better baked.

Pere ubu goes down mightly tasty.

Robyn hitchcock (folky stuff)

Stone harbour

JT IV

Ohio things along the lines of Tommy jay, Great plains,  Jim shepard, Ego summit, Vertical slit etc

I guess anything with a folky moody downerish focus of things tends to get me going stoned, Punk just seems to get me feeling way too jumpy and shakey, I get sick of people asking me why my legs are going bezerk, My legs take on a mind of their own when stoned right leg especially, Punkier music is deffinately for beer time though.  I was linked to some rediculous Vice thread about "these bands only sound good stoned" I seem to remember the authour mentioning MC5 which I'd never ever even think of listening to stoned, Anyone else weirded out by this? Anyone else also get these crazy ultra spazz leg shakes when baking? not in a dance your ass of way but more of a unoticeable to self way that if you stood up or tried to you'd deffinately end up on your ass or face in seconds flat.

Sorry for the lengthy post!

Mission of burma count for sure, I'm just on one hell of a post punk binge, Finding some good stuff and some really horrible things at the same time,
eg - Dislocation dance first 10 seconds in I thought i was going to die, not in a good sort of way.

List your faves and whatever comes close, Any reccomendations for the kind that still had a punky, rawer, D-I-Y,
Or guitar dominated sound.

Less of the synthy, danced up, king kong sized drumming, more of the bands that still had a bit of punk in them.

Alternative TV
Early astronauts
Prefects
Hyped to death bands
Blue orchids
Chrome
The creams
Deep freeze mice
Ex
Glaxo babies
Human sexual response
Slugfuckers
Sex clark five
Great plains

and all those sorts of things
