I like this thread.

OK the reissue is a go.

We already are at the pressing stage, the lacquer is done and the presses are ready.

Anyone want to get the initial red vinyl version (coming out with the free 7" + CD) grab it on our website, because there won't be a lot of those left.

http://www.seventeenrecords.com/stlp006.html

Anyone want just the regular, black vinyl LP version with no bonus, this will be the version most stores will get in the US and everywhere.

We will add on our website option to order the lesser priced, lesser limited versions in a few hours.

We completed the sleeve, and it will be a quasi exact replica of the original, in high def because we scanned the original prints films that were actually used to print the sleeves 30 years ago. We kept all the original logos (Byzz etc.). The sleeve will be thick not slim. It's gonna look awesome.

Happy new year everyone!

All right, 12 hours to go and only 16 orders left to make it. We'll know then if this reissue is worth the work or not. If it gets stuck under 100 copies, will just cancel it. Next we are putting the first MKB Fraction Provisoire LP reissue on vinyl (with additional single) for pre-order test.
19
I'm getting emails from people suggesting "Les Hommes morts..." have already been done (reissued in 2004), and "L'age d'or" might be better suited (double LP reissue project). What do you guys think?
20
77 presales already! Keep them coming, only 18 to reach the goal / minimum pre-order to make it happen. Shops, you can PM me for wholesale prices. Thanks to everyone who contributed thus far.
21
Hi again, Things are heating up, but we still need more orders to reach the goal... come to our help ! :)

22
@Permanent wax will email you

Several shops / distros come to the rescue, hopefully we can get it done and make it work. anyone who would fancy helping a US press, mail at seventeenrecordsatnumeri cable.fr

Hi,

Yes, the pre-sale need at least 100 orders to make it viable. Overall is 500 pressed, with the first 300 being red vinyl and coming with the original bonus single + CD.

- The first 300 copies come in red vinyl, with the bonus single 7" "Hysterie Connective (mix 2) / Atlantis, (like the original LP), the single will be as it was originaly in a white sleeve, and in black vinyl. They are the one at 30 ?.

- The 200 others (black vinyl) will not have the single, and are at 25 ?.

- All the 500 RECORDS will come with the free CD version in mini-sleeve, containing all the 17 tracks (15 album tracks + 2 bonus tracks).

We decided on ulule mode because if the minimum requirement is not met, no one is charged, no hassle.

I would advise with a few friends to regroup orders to save on shipping costs. We can include up to 5 LPs in each sturdy package (the same we always used) and the records will be filed out of the sleeves so that sleeves don't come out ripped from inside.

We have a few of CDs and vinyl leftovers from the past decade, so foreign orders will be filled with extra freebies, up to the 500g post price limit. This will be good because we need the shelf space too.  :)

Hi everyone,

Seventeen Records is back, after a couple of years of silence. The reason we've been dormant, you all know it : the record industry have changed. Tons of labels and distributors have ceased to exist, and music sellers are closing doors left and right.

It's now nearly impossible to reissue a cult CD in today's "official" distribution market, and expect to recoup production costs with 30 sales on the month of release, as is the case right now. At the same time, vinyl is back, big time. At Seventeen, we always loved vinyl. You all know it, if you bought our Metal Urbain, Guilty Razors, or Baader Meinhof Wagen records. Alas, the french market, even with it's great vinyl stores, is too small to recoup productions costs too.

It's a new world, and it calls for new solutions. We decided to partner with Ulule http://www.ulule.com/ and let YOU decide the fate of our vinyl records projects. The way it works is simple : you will be charged your order only if the minimum of sales to recoup production costs is achieved, making the release certain. If it's not met, you will not be charged, and the project will be canceled.

To test this, and reboot the label, we've gone back to square one. Metal Urbain. The true, 76-78 punk pioneers. A lot of you have asked us to reissue the original Rough Trade release Les  Hommes Morts sont Dangereux on vinyl, which been out of print since 2004. You can now help this reissue to exist, by pre-buying it on ulule site here http://fr.ulule.com/metal-urbain/

You can choose between a red vinyl version, or black vinyl version, one coming with the bonus original single, the other not. Both will feature a bonus CD with all the record tracks on it thought, which you can keep, or give to friends. Remember, you will only pay if the sales target is reached.

We have other similar projects awaiting to be issued at Seventeen including the MU demos from 1978 LP and the Desperados reissue. They will also be featured on Ulule, so that they can finally exist. For all the people who pre-ordered them, yours still stand, and we will be working with both Hermann Schwartz, Pat Luger and original MU single Clode Panik to make sure you get something extra for these releases.

Thanks for you support. Our new email adress is seventeenrecords (at) numericable.fr

9 at least as two incredible songs, Warrior and USLS 1. That tenfold more than most records issued in the eighties.

PIL is the most underrated band, ever.

Hi guys, yes, we are planning on a triple vinyl box set of the MU set which is selling fast on CD already. No remixes, just the same content.

In fact, we are even considering including the Desperados LP in it (unissued version with the original, better unissued mixes), but as usual, be patient, we need the bucks to get it done and in these hard times it's slow for everyone.

On other news, we SOLD OUT all Guilty Razors 7" color singles, so it's over (our licence ran out).

We do still have the CDs album and single thought, even if the stock is nearing out.

Non-Music Shit / Re: RAMBO IV

So anyone seen the movie ?

BTW in part 3, he helps a faction of Taliban who are opposed to Bin Laden faction, I think it's fairly documented, therefore, the movie technically isn't about Rambo helping future world terrorists.
