Psychic Handshake Recordings is very happy to finally announce the vinyl release of Victoria, BC band Babysitter's debut LP, Eye.

Since forming a few years back, the band has self-recorded nine full-length cassettes of PACNW rock and roll that recalls The Wipers, Archers of Loaf, and the like. Eye is something like a greatest hits compilation of this material, but the tunes have been re-recorded professionally for maximum punch.

Here's a song: https://soundcloud.com/psychic-handshake/babysitter-talkin-bout-the-new

And here's another one: https://soundcloud.com/psychic-handshake/babysitter-angel-of-death

If you wanna stream the whole thing you can do that here: http://babysitter.bandcamp.com/

You can purchase the record through our webstore, but please forgive the insane shipping rates. Canada Post has discontinued surface shipping to USA/international, so it will be airmail from now on. I have tried everything I can to keep prices low, but I'm at a loss. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm eager to hear.

Buy it now: http://psychichandshake.bigcartel.com/

This skate video looks so killer.  Don't know shit about skate tricks, but the camera tricks are TIGHT.  Here's the whole thing on a dropbox link.  Enjoy!

I'm bumping this handy thread to ask about folks' experiences in the last year and a half.

First of all, I assume you figured everything out, QH? That's the workflow right there; and you shouldn't have any trouble with bass if you've got a solid pre-master and lacquer. Does the record exist? Do I own it? Should I?

Now me. I was just wondering what people's experiences have been with backlogs and delays amid the increased vinyl production of the last year or so. I have had an LP project tied up for a long time, but I have been assured delays of this sort are almost universal. I'm wondering if anyone out there is still turning good work fast and affordably. Keep in mind that I am in Canada, so I'm generally looking at $0.75 to $1.00 more per record on a 500 press.

I'm most onboard with Barfunk's list, though I haven't been able to purchase much this year and must infer from streaming songs and such.

What I've heard of the new Pheromoans, Dan Melchior, Horrid Red, Billy Bao, El-P, Swans, Blues Control, Sun Araw/Congos, Evening Meetings, and Goat records sound grand, though I haven't nabbed a one of 'em.

Most enjoyable purchases have been the Ronnies record, Uranium Orchard, Ashrae Fax, Julia Holter, Panopticon Eyelids, Slim Twig's A Hound at the Hem, and US Girls' GEM. Probably some others.

I'm also very into Sex Church's Somnambulist EP and Babysitter's Eye LP, which is more or less out now, but those are records I co/released, so take that for what you will.

My favourite LP of the decade is Sightings' Arrived in Gold.

The record is really good. Glad to have pulled the trigger, even while I'm relatively unable to drop a mere pittance on a favorably priced record. Next small-time drop is the last of the Bilders/Unwucht drop. I suppose many are stretched too thin to pick up all the records they want?

Don't know about the shipping, Shaun can answer.  Just want to add that I also have 5 copies of the latest US Girls single, Rosemary b/w Sed Knife, on Electric Voice Records, and this is an option for the 12" + 7" package.
58

Just paypal'd for an order to Montreal.  Let me know how much more to send for the shipping. Thanks.

Posted track sounds great! This band continues to be great... BELIVE DA HYPE... Fuckin' Scotch Tapes duder took me for about $50 I sent him for a few copies of the Anti-climb record... any copies of this floating around? I still haven't heard it. Shit! Yeah.

Would you care to comment on your experiences + any tips? Going to Portugal for 10 days in July.... got some great tips from one of the Sunflare folks + the guy who runs this venue/art space ZDB... but would love to know more.

Also, gonna hit Porto and some places in between (eg. Avanca) so any suggestions would be great.

Also, hitting Barcelona and Brussels, but I've already had a long look at those threads.
