Record looks clean with very little wear, cover has some wear and a slight bend on a corner but looks pretty good. This is the Zensor (Germany) press.

Non-Music Shit / Brooklyn folks! Anyone want to adopt a kitten?

This may not be Termbo worthy, but my gf and I discovered a cat with 5 kittens (gray and white, pretty cute) last night who seem to have taken residence in the "backyard" area behind our apt... The kittens appear to be at least 6-8 weeks old, we already own a cat so we can't take another one to live with us in our cramped apt. This is pretty common this time of year, so I imagine a lot of you know what it's like. None of them (mother or kitten) have been spayed or neutered (we only discovered them yesterday).

Please let me know if you are willing to foster or help out with them. We've contacted several no kill shelters in the area and they are all swamped, I'm using the ACC as a last resort since they have a pretty bad reputation and tend to kill a lot of the animals they take in.

Records is almost flawless with some minor paper scuff, sleeve has some minor ring wear on front cover and a tiny smudge from what was once a price tag on top right corner, otherwise looks great!

$30 - Sonic Youth "Daydream Nation" 2xLP Blast First Cat#: BFFP 34

Record has minor scuffs from paper sleeve. Gatefold sleeve/cover has some wear around the edges and seams. Does not include poster, only the Engima/Blast First version seems to have it. I'm the original owner.

Got a stray copy of his LP "Arctic Hysteria" (Adolescent Records) recently... it seems Subterranean still has copies. Really great cold-bleak sounding synth post punk weirdness... reminds me of early Kluster/Cluster but with an 80's twist...

Slava Ranko(aka Don Philippi) released only one album, Arctic Hysteria (1981), that quotes John Cage, Brian Eno, minimalism, Indian music Don Philippi (October 2 1930-January 26 1993) was a noted translator of Japanese and Ainu and a musician.

Born in Los Angeles, Philippi studied at the University of Southern California before going to Japan in 1957 on a Fulbright scholarship to study at the Kokugakuin University. In Japan he became an expert in classical Japanese and Ainu.

Philippi is known for his translation of the Kojiki and the ancient Shinto prayers known as norito. He also published a book of Ainu poetry called Songs of Gods, Songs of Humans: The Epic Tradition of the Ainu and a book of ancient Japanese poetry called This Wine of Peace, This Wine of Laughter: A Complete Anthology of Japan's Earliest Songs. Philippi was a noted technical translator.

Philippi was also a musician, learning the shamisen and the biwa both in the U.S. and Japan. In the late 70s, became a part of the San Francisco musical scene under the name of Slava Ranko, performing a combination of Japanese biwa and synthesizer music. He died in 1993.
