Any U.S. types got this for sale? Just got a few tracks of emusic. Good stuff. Plus UNWED TEENAGE MOTHERS cover tune!
I'm going to try to get a few copies of this in America.

Wheels on Fire also have a new 7" EP out on my label:
www.kindturkeyrecords.com

Features 4 tracks. 12 minutes of music. B-Side contains a demo version of "Go Give Yer Love" Away from the Alien Snatch! LP!
First 100 copies on purple vinyl.

Nice review, with two of the tracks streaming here:
http://styrofoamdrone.com/2010/09/27/wheels-on-fire-the-cherry-bomb-ep/

"It's smart, honest, and guitar driven poppy garage rock that?s about as addicting as music comes these days....The 7″ comes with four songs clocking in at just under 12 minutes long, and each track includes a memorable hook or catchy lyrics that?s bound to keep you coming back for more. Whether it?s the catchy guitar hook at the end of ?Cherry Bomb?, or the witty break up lyrics in ?Broken Up?, this band is bound to turn heads with their infectious take on the sometimes psych-ish, sometimes bluesy guitar-driven garage rock."

On Itunes:

Will let you know if I get copies of the LP.

KLYAM are you one of those gimps (like pitchfork) that  think that "There is no Sun" is a beautiful mournful introspective ballad when really it's a scathing misogynistic warning to a girlfriend not to get out of line?

I met someone like that this weekend and contemplated homicide.

And pitchfork. About that. They steal a good portion of their content from the KLYAM. Except for the ratings. Two instances: two days ago I posted a little thing about Oh Sees new album. Yesterday, they posted a little thing. I said that Harlem's Hippies flow gets ruined at "Prairie My Heart" .... they said that more or less in their review today. And yes, I do check their reviews for plagiarism. It's happened before with Black Lips reviews. I set trends. They copy me.

so now pitchforks going to run a story about how you found out jay's not dead? RIGHT?

Kind Turkey Records is a new label based out of the Bay Area and Minneapolis collaboratively!

Our first release is a split cassette by two London bands affiliated with Black Time!
Black Mamba Beat - www.myspace.com/blackmambabeat
Wake Up Dead - www.myspace.com/wakeupdead00

30 minutes of garage/punk glory. Half of the tape is the deranged pop madness of Black Mamba Beat and half the tape is the demented vampire ramblings of Wake Up Dead. Caustic tracks for realz. Both sides had some help from our pals Black Time (both in production/engineering as well as in members playing in each of the bands).

Limited to 100 hand-numbered copies. First 25 are hand-painted. Includes an insert and music to blast in yr '92 Corolla's tape deck.

Black Mamba Beat:                                      Wake Up Dead:
1. The Apology                                             1. Zombie Love
2. Don't Care Show Me                                2. Hospital
3. Hibernating                                               3. Dirty Eraser
4. Who's Gonna Do It?!                                4. Rich Friends
5. D.I. and DIE!                                             5. Union City
6. note from The Moat

Only a few hand painted copies left!

You can buy it here for 5 bucks postage paid in the US:

Termbo just wrote a pretty flattering review of Black Mamba Beat's new LP!
Here's that review:

Black Mamba Beat s/t LP
Post-Black Time bands are now go, with our pal Mr. Stix ringing up his cohorts Space Rat and Rosie Skinz to lay down a Black Mamba Beat LP after a superfine tape release. Superficial comparisons to the 'Time can and should be made, as the desperate shamble is certainly there but without Caution's dark hand pulling the strings. A bit more hi-fidelic even. BMB are their own band anyway, playing with the punk/DIY hybrid that Hygiene sort of employ. Strangley I think they sound more American than that band and most other Limeys plying this sort of rough trade, due in most part to what is a decided Minutemen influence and some slight jazz tricks. Primitive but fancy, listen to that cheezy organ whine on "Sooo Broke!" or that perfectly utilized reverb on "Maskanda Synapse". They get a lot out of a little it seems. Very econo. There's plenty of moments where they sound like they should have a single on Guided Missile, a few that could have been on a Sebadoh tape, and even an unfortunate couple of Calvin Johnson-eque minutes. "Scene Song" is just simple hardcore punk when you get down to brass tacks. Sure it's lo-fi and post-punky and UKDIY and all, but at the heart of the matter it's just screamin' and yellin' and shreddin'. It's punk rock, that's all, and that's all we can ask for. And "Despondent" is so peculiarly catchy it's fantastic. Working class punk that I ride for.(RK)

You might know Wheels on Fire from their last releases on Fat Possum, Trouble in Mind, Rosa, and Squoodge Records!

They'll be touring Europe the month of October to support both the new releases...then it's back to the US for another US tour!
You can see dates here:
www.myspace.com/wheelsonfire

If ya need more reason to buy, here's the Termbo review from their last single:

Wheels On Fire "Bad Lie" 7"
First record I've heard from these Athens, OH popsters who have some stuff out on Fat Possum as well I believe. Medium-fi by the books power-poppish stuff, "Bad Lie" whoa-oh-ohs all over the place and has a bit of a Southern twang feel to it. The flipside is straight Elvis Costello tribute. If you love Gentleman Jesse you'll at least like this one. Are they named after The Band song? Or did Dylan actually write that one? Scum stats: 500 numbered copies on "garbage" wax, beautiful company sleeves/labels, download card included.(RK)

Black Lips / Interview with Jared!

Kind Turkey:
So you just got home from Spain? How was that/what were you up to?

Jared Swilley:
Spain was cool. It was pretty retarded because we were only there for two days and did one show. Town was very pretty and old. Watched the world cup.

KT: Craziest thing you saw in Spain?
JS: I saw Slash in the hotel lobby with his kids. I didn?t realize it was him and assumed he was some guy with Kiss (they played too). I saw the line up later and saw that Slash was playing.

KT: Alright different gear. What bands really got you into music? Really got yr passion to play in a rock n roll band?
JS: If I had to pick one band that made me want to be in a band I would have to say the Germs. We learned to play guitar by covering Link Wray songs and ripping off back from the grave bands. Also the Ramones.

KT: What inspires you to continue writing music and performing?
JS: It?s all I?ve done for my entire adult life. I just really like playing shows and traveling. I really like being in a band.

KT: Favorite beer for the summertime drinkin? with pals?
JS: My go-to beer is Busch in a can. Really cold. If I?m feeling fancy I get Czech Budweiser.

KT: Speakin? of that, where would you rather be right now?
JS: Actually right here at home. I haven?t been home in a long time. Also poolside.

KT: What?s the Black Lips record yr most fond of? Not which one you think has the best material, but rather just one you had the most fun recording and have the best memories of?
JS: I probably had the most fun with the first one since everything was so new and I?d never been in a recording studio before. Let it Bloom was a lot of fun too since we were at the beach and I learned how to surf, and the other parts were done in Berlin with King Khan and that was a great summer

KT: I saw a lot of younger kids at the Black Lips show in Madison, I was pretty happy about that, have you seen a younger generation take hold as well as the people who?ve been a fan since way back when? What kind of vibes do those kids throw as compared to the older more well-known crowd?
JS: Most people complain about young ones at our shows. I think it?s great. They have more fun and have tons of energy and aren?t jaded yet. The young kids are a way better vibe. Old fans tend to grumble and pick everything apart. Not all of them, but a lot. Viva youth.

KT: Since KT is stationed in Wisconsin, what?s yr favorite food to put cheese on?
JS: I like really stinky french cheese on bread. I?m also very fond of Poutine, so bread or french fries.

KT: What?s on the horizon for the Black Lips this year?
JS: We have our first extended break in 7 years. We?re about finished with the new album. Other than that I?m going to take a much needed vacation.

KT: Thanks Jared, if you wanna leave us with a word of advice, we?d love that.
JS: Keep a dry lip and a clean Pecker

Thanks Jared!
