ON HOLD.
VG++ with about 1 1/2 inch seam split on top, promo stamp on back/VG+ with one kinda bad looking scratch and some very minor scratches, none that affect play

I know some dudes on here have been wanting some Leeboy. Original promo press on Mercury of Lee Hazlewood's first album, released in 1963. It doesn't have the psych, soul, or orchestral moves that later Hazlewood has, as this his was in the first era of Hazlewood's albums (Trouble, N.S.V.I.P.'s, Friday's Child/Houston), all of which were pretty straightforward country/folk/rural tunes, but very fine records nevertheless. Has commentary before the songs, which I normally hate, but Hazlewood of course makes it work. Great, recommended record.

Some songs from the rec:

Steph Lopez's 11/11/11 birthday show at Beerland in Austin. Starts at 9:00 with the following bands:

FUNGI GIRLS (Cleburne, TX)
Cleburne's finest, playing some semi-new shit this time around.

VOYAGEURS (Fayetteville, AR)
Small Arkansas college town guys that aren't getting the attention they deserve. Kind of hard to describe, outside of psych/garage, and maybe some Dino Jr. vibes here and there.

RAYON BEACH (Austin, TX)
HoZac band that rules, as most of you should know.

THE ZOLTARS (Austin, TX)
Simple, catchy, and incredibly awesome.

YEAR OF THE BEAR (Fort Worth, TX)
New psych/shoegaze band from Fort Worth. Spaceman 3 vibes.

PS: There's a rumor that all of the bands will be doing a cover of Van Halen's "Jump". Don't miss out.

Tonight at Beerland in Austin:

FUNGI GIRLS
CREATIONISTS
THE ZOLTARS
HORSE + DONKEY

Our fourth release to date, and the first split release from Psychic Lunch and Evil Weevil records is a 12" EP from Brooklyn, NY's (originally Virginia Beach, VA?s) PC Worship, which consists of Justin Frye and his revolving cast of band members. "Toxic Love" is Justin's most accessible and least noisy release yet, a concoction of grimy and brooding psychedelic sounds, occasional garage rock moves, and weirdo avant-garde vibes. At times you can hear echoes of the Red Krayola and the Velvet Underground & Nico, but at the same time he would fit well up against contemporaries Indian Jewerly or Royal Baths.

Limited to 500 on black vinyl. Now accepting pre-orders on Bigcartel:

-------------------------------------------------
Little Deers - "I Remember Doris" b/w "Billys Going Out Tonight" private press

Past eBay auction accurately describes it: "Ok so how did this one sneak by me? I have been dealing in the Boston punk/Wave scene for 20 years and this is the first I have heard of this? GREAT GUITAR BASED MID-TEMPO PUNKER ON SIDE ONE simple and catchy 3 chorder,  with some cool psych guitar breaks and hand claps and moody/attitude vocals (do I hear the wipers? ground zero? mission of burma?) Side Two is is a bid slower and darker BUT still good stuff. This record is OBSCURE!! Never seen another as far as I can remember. Not sure who knows about this not much on the web but as far as I can hear this is a WINNER.  Saw one sold for 30 bucks listed as powerpop. this is NOT powerpop this is Nervy Punk with a hint of art  punk. Collectors need to hear this one. It will soon be in big demand!"

Vinyl: NM+ // Sleeve: NM+
$30 + shipping SOLD

Music Shit / Best new Krautrock-styled bands?
« on: April 26, 2011, 05:49:28 PM »
Anyone have any recommendations for newer bands doing the Krautrock style well? Particularly bands using motorik? Eternal Tapestry and Cave are the only ones I can really think of.
14
Anyone else going to either one? I'm pretty excited for both. Bands I'm looking forward to seeing:

Cold Sun, Roky Erickson, Fresh & Onlys, Vacant Lots, Cloudland Canyon, Beaches, Young Prisms, Indian Jewelry, Spectrum, Bass Drum of Death, ST37, and Dirty Beaches.
