Almost got in a fight with a dude from MN in Santiago, Chile last night over Husker Du, Replacements... Handful of good songs by each band, neither had more than a few great ones though. The overwhelming majority of both bands catalog's are among the worst of that place and time.

Definitely agree with you with regards to the Replacements - never made a solid record, and about 70% of their output is pretty bad. Husker Du made some patchy records, but "Flip Your Wig" and "New Day Rising" are both very strong records.

"The Teleporters" tape (members of Pheromoans, on Savory Days) comes VERY recommended from me! Especially if you dig later era-Shadow Ring stuff.

Does Human RACE have anything coming out on vinyl or casette?  I don't buy CDs unless they're compilations of rare glam, poperpop, reggae or soul.

There will be a 7" which should hopefully be out around March time. Other bits and bobs around then as well.

Music Shit / Re: Midnight

Anybody see any of the European shows? How were they?
some people here seem to think Midnight is the best thing since beer was invented. C'mon! They arent that good. Just solid punk/metal that is a bit too gimmicky and musically sequacious to be considered truly great

but that's where you're wrong, that's what makes them truly great!

Exactly! And they were one of the best bands at the NWN fest for that reason. Was totally refreshing to see a band that wasn't afraid to take the piss out the crowd and themselves, and not dedicate every song to "the maniacs from blahblahblah".

Only until the pound becomes so weak that we have no choice but welcome our new currency - the mighty question mark.

Yep, my pal Mark put this out and has put a lot of work into it. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy!

New Lambkin cd on his KYE label is a cracker too.

"Tubeway Army", "Replicas" and "the Pleasure Principle" are all brilliant, and there is some solid stuff in some of the later records too. My band was trying to open for him at Sunderland university on his tour in November as we thought we had a lead, but no luck. A shame as I'd love to support the old cunt.

I saw them a couple of months ago here in London and they were amazing. Much harder sounding that other Wallers projects, and somewhere between Chrome and the Teasers if you can imagine that.
