I got to see Hudson front the Murder Junkies a couple of times RIGHT after GG died. Although it was an odd pairing, it was pretty good. Good enough that I bought the Cheetah Chrome/Mike Hudson 7" that came out around then. Not too good.

What I find most (un)entertaining about these docs featuring some of the "lesser known"/"important bands" is how shitty they sound on film/video. "They were breaking all the rules. Musically they were way ahead of their time. People just didn't get it." Cut to the worst shit I've ever heard. Cut to crap that sounds like a bunch of 13 year olds playing a Mad Magazine version of junk rock.

Bought mine in the mid 80s at a great shop in Pittsburgh. The "old" hippy who sold it to me looked at it and shook his head. "Man, I bought this when it came out. I took it back to my place in the Haight, and it totally bummed everyone out. I loved that."
