Cyrpus Hill's first casette when I was around 8 or 9. My mom bought it for me, the clerk thought she was crazy. Then, I showed the oldest kid in my neiborhood who was like 12 or 14 and his mouth hit the floor when I showed it to him. You could say he went insane in the membrane.

Saw them years ago in Detroit. I had no idea who they were when I saw them. Didn't figure it out until years later. Haven't seen them since, but I really want to. I own their last full length. Whenever I go to the record stores Reckless usually seems to have some 7" of theirs. It never ends.

This Years Model is a fantastic record. Pure hits in my book. My favorite track has to be the opener "No Action." The drumming on that song will knock you out.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: you man eye
« on: December 01, 2006, 08:19:51 AM »
yeah, the 7" was supposed to be released before the Human Eye played those set of shows recently. THe pressing was delayed, at the plant I believe, so they couldn't takeit with them. The guy that is releasing them just moved to Oregon so I do not know when this will become available. In any case I am in touch with the guy releasing it and he usually tells me when he releases a new record.

So in short, you can't buy it yet.

Music Shit / Re: Carbonas LP - Any Good?
« on: November 29, 2006, 11:12:24 AM »
yesterday I went through about 30 boxes of 7"s. Found some really good stuff for not too much money. I had a lot of fun doing it too. I just logged onto Soulseek and searched for some stuff I wanted to hear, but hadn't heard. I found it and downloaded it. I don't care that much about it. I like one of my 7"s more that I spent a shit ton of time looking for than all the stuff I have downloaded. Downloading just makes music boring.

I don't really know if it hurts small bands like the ones we listen to. Nobody could really prove it. You'd have to take an estimate of projected sales vs. an estimate of sales lost due to downloading. Most likely impossible, at least at this level. But, I say to the people that download only to "hear" a band, go to Myspace.

The value of this record seems to climb up everytime someone puts up a copy of it on Ebay. I belive it ended at around $20 last time and before that at around $15.
