Like a less sloppy versions of the Black Lips before they got to be a really tight live band. Go see em if they come to town.

weird comparison for me they're sort of like a 3 piece stooges before they could play but I'm not really a fan of the Black Lips even when  they couldn't play but that's neither here nor there....Yeah but if you've only heard the records you are missing most of the point. TOL are all about live. They also mutated a lot from their early days I think they used to have like 5 guys in the band and were more traditional. Great great live band.

For the longest time I didn't know "Police On My Back" was a cover, it was just one of my fav Clash songs.  Of course when I found out who did it originally it still didn't make an impression cuz I don't know much about the Equals ... didn't I see an extensive Equals discussion somewheres around here recently?  Are they as good as that song suggests?

Yes. The equals rule.  There's a great comp out there of all the singles well worth it.  A ton of bands cover Baby Come Back too.

I never knew that Dickies song Pretty Please Me was a Quick song
or most of those Cramps split rip offs until I got those Songs the Cramps taught us comps.

Yeah I've got no clue what shit translates to in sales. Bad reviews tend to get forgotten unless the bands are big dicks  or babies about it.

Bands are usually unreliable in public cuz they always have an agenda and want to get on good shows with whatever band is big somewhere. You don't talk shit about whomever is the local sweethearts and then expect favors.

You can't pay much mind to whatever gets said on line cuz it is usually 3 dorks into something.  I've been super disappointed lately with live bands that get praised  on line and just suck live.

We'll in the 90s if you got a decent review in MRR that directly translated to selling about 100 records.  I can't imagine getting a good review in TB translates to much. So who cares. You send your record in you are asking for it good or bad.

There are tons of bands that end up on both sides of the line I agree or strongly disagree with.  All writers have agendas I like to know what they are upfront so I can judge whether I sound take the advice. I've bought a couple of things w/ rave reviews on TB and been sort of pissed at how bad they were.

There is nothing better than bitter yankees fans. The Red Sox were just plain better than everyone this year.  I wouldn't be surprised if they go on a decent run for a few as 1/2 of their quality players are all cheap and young.

I highly doubt A-rod comes to Boston. I'm guessing LA or Chicago.  Mike Lowell will end up in NY.  Perfect fit he's the sort of guy they need and he's probably at his highest market value ever so the Yankees will pay him 15 mil for 4 years or something and for 2 years he'll be old and worn out.

Sterling is annoying as hell but I'll give you he's good if you're a Yankees fan amd actually adds something unique to those games.

Jerry Remy who does the Sox games is untouchable in my book.  He has no qualms about ripping sox players or managers for dumb moves + he is local and understands the fans. He also knows what the hell he is talking about

McCarver and Morgan suck. I think they're both senile. Morgan does nothing but tell you what pitch was thrown and he's wrong 1/2 the time.

This is looking like a sweep. The Rockies do not impress me.  I can't say I've watched them much but this is proof of how weak the national league has become.  That was a 1 run game that was one hit from being another blowout.

I rest my case.

But there is a big drop between our #1 and 2, 3, and 4 pitchers so it ain't over.  That's the fucking reason why Francona left him in so the Sox maintain a bullpen that can eat up innings when Dice-K and Lester are out in 4 innings. How fucking dumb do you have to be to be an national announcer. Christ Beckett threw what 90 pitches.

Well if there is any truth to certain guys being better in the post-season Beckett certainly is one of them. I'd trust him more than any of those other pitchers listed.  You also can't discount how great Lowell has turned out. This year he was the 2nd best 3rd baseman in baseball. He led the sox in RBIs and has been almost flawless in the feild.  yeah for a team like the marlins it was probably a good trade too since they have no plans on winning in the near future.

Santana will be a Yankee next year for probably 20 mil a year. After this season there is no way the Yankees will pass on any top flight relatively young pitchers

hey those are mouth vaginas.  Youkallis is great but whatever I wouldn't expect or want you to like him.

As far as placing blame.  Didn't Torre effectively get fired?  Dumbest move ever.  I hate the Yankees but good luck to them finding someone better for that team.  The A-rod bashing I'm sure it was up there.

I've got no idea where you think I'm making up conspiracy theories.  I think the yankees lost due to shitty starting pitching. It was their problem all year.

Wow.  Without Beckett would the Sox even have come close to the World Series??  The world Series is why you play all year.  I know for some other teams this isn't the case. So yeah Hanley Ramirez is great but had we kept him would we have made it to THE WORLD SERIES.  I'm sure the Braves and Marlins are enjoying all that value but they weren't even in the post season.

If you don't determine shit from 4 games why are yankees fans all over A-Rod?  A way better player than Jeter with better numbers this post season and all year.

Of course I hate Jeter because I'm a sox fan.  Would I expect Yankees fans to like David Ortiz fuck no.

I think the question was asked why people hate Jeter I tied to explain but you guys can't see past his beauty.

In no way do I think Lugo is better.  I just said defensively they are not that different. (this year).  yeah Jeter will go to the Hall of Fame deservedly but overrated does not mean that you aren't good. but you can still be over rated.  National announcers all have a hard on for the Yankees that's what drives non- NY fans crazy

Derek Jeter post season stats 2007 =  Avg .176 OBP .176  Slg= .176

Wow how clutch

Looks like now is the time to ship him off while he has some value,

In the past yeah I'll admit his post season numbers are great . Yeah hating him is irrational all this sport shit is. You just don't see Albert Poulhos face every where and he is a better player

Renteria sucked ass in Boston he couldn't cut it here probably couldn't cut it in NY.  The beckett trade for hanley ramirez worked out great, I'll take a #1 starter over a shortstop any day plus throw in Mike Lowell  -amazing trade.

I'm not denying he's a good player. But its the Nomar principle w/ him. I saw that guy make some of the most amazing plays but he was mediocre defensively Jeter definitely is too.  Lots of shortstops are better defensively. In fact almost all of them in the major leagues.  Lugo is better in the feild and he is mediocre. If you were a fan of other teams it would drive you crazy the way they feature the guy.  That is why  he's hated.

You have to admit the guys batting around you have a profound affect on ones batting average. Jeter's goes down 30 points in another line up

If the Yankees were smart they would trade him. You could probably get 2 ace pitchers for the guy because he would help a smaller market team. Nomar leaving was the best thing that happened to the Sox but I wouldn't have believed it then

yeah there are a lot of bandwagon jumpers for the Sox but christ if you watched them pre-2004 you'd see we have some payback coming. Unlike the Cubs the Sox actually tried every year the fans cared and they blew it in such dramatic fashion it was beyond painful..... so I'm gonna enjoy this.

People hate Jeter because he is over-rated and you always have to hear national announcers masturbate over him.  Is he good? yes but there are a lot of other players that are better and don't get the praise.  Also just by being in the Yankees line-up your batting average gets inflated. There is no way he'd have as good numbers on another team.  (The same goes for Ortiz..take manny out of the sox line up he suffers)

Defensively he is mediocre but he wins gold gloves that he clearly doesn't deserve

Weren't Jeters numbers worse in this post season than A-rods?

The Yankees lost die to pitching not hitting
