I can listen to a Waits record anytime, anywhere and never get sick of it.  One of those artists that can do very little wrong.

Was it the Auditorium Theater in Chicago?  That venue has great acoustics.  Would love to see him there.

Sure they're old and don't move around as quickly but its not as if they hung up their instruments after 1974 and called it quits.  They evolved into a christian rock group for sometime, then ended up a reggae band till this thing hit.  Been playing the college circuit for years man!!!  That accounts for something right!? Ha!

Yeah, so I'm a tad skeptical too, but I'm psyched to hear those songs live.

That Bubble Puppy record is great from start to finish.

Theres a nasty rumor circulating in my head or in actuality that there's a local record pressing plant that recently started production.

Anybody know about this?

I hate the idea that I'll have to send my projects out of state.

Pisces - A Lovely Sight LP from 1969/2009.  Gets better with every listen.  Recently unearthed by the mighty Numero Group.  Psych gem in the vein of Jefferson Airplane and Velvet Underground.  From Rockford Illinois.  Instruments on the recordings were loaner's from Rick Nielsen's parents!!!

Non-Music Shit / Re: good cheap mics for recording?

If you're mixer provides phantom, I suggest looking for Oktava MK012 condenser mics.  One cost under a hundred bucks a couple years ago.  Used as a secret weapon by a lot of sound engineers for both live and studio applications.  They're great for overheads and for guitar amps.  Good luck!

OVER THE EDGE. 1979

Best teenage rebellion movie I think I've seen.  Yeah definitely...   Pissed off suburban kids do severe damage to their town... torching cars, killing cops, dropping acid in geometry class.  Matt Dillion in his first acting role.

The ending of this one ruins it for me.

Why?  They go to jail, no stupid happy ending where the realization that they were wrong all along and reunite with their parents and life is all better kinda crap.  Fuck that.

Whats up with Utrecht?  Are there any other major record fairs globally that are notable?

I'd be worried I'd blow all my money at WFMU in the first two hours and be fucked for the rest of the weekend/stay.
