thanks, but I was more reffering to LPs that I have bought from flea markets, etc, that have mold spots on them. If the mold spots are old is there any danger of them spreading if the room where I keep the records is dry and well ventilated?

What is your take on mold spreading from record to record.  I have some LPs where the vinyl has little white mold or fungus growths, but none where the jacket is moldy.  Is there any danger that the mold could spread to other records?

Scott, your comments in your answer to Steve's ebay question reminded me of something I wanted to ask.  Do the market prices for records ever eventually go down, aside from when a band is "hot" or whatever as you referred to?  Do you think KBD type records will ever decrease in value?  I ask cause it seems like KBD type stuff at the point where every half-way decent looking powerpop/punk/wave 7" goes for at least 40 dollars on ebay.  Do you ever see this decreasing or leveling off?  I sort of just started paying attention to stuff like this, so I don't have much perspective.

Also, can you recommend any good books on prison or prisoner culture?

I don't know if this is that rare or what, but someone should buy this record:

It is really good power poppy stuff.  The A side sort of sounds like Big Star but in a wierd way.

yeah, keep them coming!

2 things.  First, I have one of those Henry Cowell-edited Folways music of the world 2xLPs, this one for the Music Of The Meditteranean.  There is a track on it of Albanian music that is amazing, it sounds like the Velvets warming up before playing "Black Angel's Death Song" or something, especially cause of the viola.  Or maybe the No Neck Blues Band, but from like the 20s.  Do you know what I'm talking about and if so, are there any other records of Albanian music you can recommend that have stuff like this?

Second, are you familiar with Little Howlin' Wolf? If not, I think you would really dig him.  Here is a description:

James Pobiega, a 6'9" Polish-derived man from Chicago's South Side, performed heavily in bars and and to a greater extent on the street of his home turf during the late 70s through the mid 80s under the name Little Howlin Wolf. During that time, self-released 32 45s (that weknow of) and two LPs (compiled from the 7"s) titled The Guardian and The Cool Truth. The LPs show a unique and visionary take on emotive, raw, dissolved blues featuring Wolf on every instrument he could lay his hands on with a wrenching souldfulness and commanding fire-brained intensity to match Albert Ayler. The 45s, though, are where Wolf really stretched out, taking his music to its furthest reaches including stabs at Calypso, gypsy songs, Country-Western and children's songs.

I also totally endorse the Half Japanese movie.  "Some people might ask 'what about chords?' And I'd say, yeah you need chords to plug the guitar in..."

Is the Kugelberg commentary a DVD bonues feature or something? I don't remember it from the VHS I have.

I see where SSR is coming from.  Chuck Eddy has a great quote to this affect in the Stairway To Hell book, where he calls RB "a bland supper-club excercise in Stooge-worship".  I still agree with other people tho who say that had some killer songs.

yeah that is stupid. I like some Britney Spears songs and I would call all the ones I like good or at least pretty good.  I like Radio Birdman too, they have more good songs.
