Slow, I guess, but a lot of depth...Count me surprised that the confrontation would play out like this but knowing it is the last season, they can really do anything, although I'm sure it isn't going to end in a hail of bullets...Loved the opening pool scene...

same. slow start but the end started to pick up. wonder what's going to happen next.

My wife and I are going to be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in the city we got engaged in (the reason this thread exists!) from 7/20-2/26. Anything interesting going on? We aren't really interested in any shows. I think I know the record spots to hit, but if there is a store heavy on used stock, let me know. Any hiking that can be recommended, breweries, wineries, flea markets, swimming, interesting museums, zoo's, or one time events?

breweries; golden road in la is alright. the bruery is in placentia, orange county technically, but pretty cool.

museums; lacma is always fun. you can spend a whole day there no problem. moca is cool too, not as big.

wtf i was just talking about this guy. he used to be a substitute teacher at my old high school. everyone called him 'spicy' since he said it at the end of every sentence, trying to be hip with all the kids. i randomly saw him at the hb library about six months ago just pacing talking on his phone.

What's the name of Nox's band? Are they playing hardwave?

Any fans of Miami Connection?

Yes!!! Just discovered it on Netflix a few days ago.

Wife and I watched this last night after reading this.  What a movie !  My favourite scene is where YK Kim tries to jump into the car and fails, but they don't edit it out.

plus the scene where YK Kim was feeding his band grapes was a definite wtf moment reminiscent of part of The Room...

just watched this. some scenes are painful to watch but it's entertaining. just downloaded the soundtrack, some of those dragon sound songs aren't bad.

I'm reminded today of a great story a friend in L.A. told me:

A few years ago my friend was having some electrical work done and when handed the bill noticed a familiar name at the bottom. A check was written, the repairman left and that was that.

But over the next few days my friend kept thinking about the name on the bill. It started to really gnaw at him. He called the repairman and asked him to come back and recheck something. After the repairman made sure the wiring he did the first time was correct my friend asked him: "You're Alan Myers of Devo, aren't you?" When the repairman nodded in the affirmative, my friend, a drummer himself, motioned to a drum kit he had moved into the living room specifically for the return visit and asked, "Would you play it? 'Satisfaction'?"

He did.
