maybe you should watch the movies before you show them in your class.
I had a bad experience similar to this in 8th grade where I insisted my entire class watch Blazing Saddles
The black kids in class did not think it was super hilarious and I got suspended.
did you also get your ass kicked? if not, your classmates showed some monumental restraint...
I had totally forgotten about this until today, which is kind of weird but the way I remember it happening was like this. One of my first jobs was doing yard work for my social studies teacher Tim Gallaher. He was always talking to me about stuff and I remember telling him about Clockwork Orange and Blazing Saddles. He was telling me he wanted to play a movie for our class or something and I kept telling him " you've got to show Blazing Saddles, it's hilarious" and stuff like that, so a few days later we were going to watch a movie and he fucking popped the VHS tape in and within 20 minutes all the black kids in the class went nuts. I do remember now that he had to turn it off like halfway through. There was a meeting after school the next day or the day after with my mom, him, me and some other people and he got in some sort of trouble and they gave me ISS for a few days. I barely remember this whole thing but I do remember being fucking terrified during the movie and getting REALLY uncomfortable/hot/red faced and also being glad that the teacher was taking all of the heat for it at the time and not me.
