Sorry, this is going to be rather long winded.
I sold an item through eBay and the person said they never received it. I tracked it and told the person that a notice was left and they could pick up their item at their local post office. The person said that they had never heard of such a thing and they were going to file a complaint with Paypal. They did and the money was pulled from my account and frozen. I provided Paypal with photographs of the tracking receipt and original postal receipt. They ruled in my favor.
The person then sent me an email and said that they had received the item and that everything was swell. I emailed him back and told him to never bid on my items again and probably called him a stupid cunt.
A few weeks later I received three notices that there was another dispute and that they had ruled in favor of the buyer and again pulled my money. I contacted Paypal and they said they would fix it. They didn't, so I called again tonight only to learn that the buyer had filed a bullshit charge that the item was not as described. I NEVER received any notification from Paypal until Monday when all the notification came in the form of three pieces of email. Paypal insisted that I received their email in a timely fashion, which was far from true. For twenty-five minutes they told me that there was nothing that could done. Supervisor time. Another thirty minutes of nothing can be done. The buyer gets the item and his cash back. Paypal said that they would call they buyer and have my item shipped back. I told them that it would never happen. Lots of screaming, plenty of bullshit and I'm fucked thrown in for good measure only to be told that Paypal was going to hang-up. Another fifteen minutes of berating their business practice and it was decided that we would split the loss.
I'm still pissed over the whole thing and I'm contemplating making the trip to Florida because I saved the person's address. I vowed that I would never go to Florida for any reason, but I think I found a reason.
Moral of the story. If you're a seller---check your account regularly for disputed cases because I swear that I never received any notification from Paypal until it was too late.
