Music Shit / Re: Best show you never went to in your life and why
« on: November 12, 2014, 03:00:40 PM »
Plenty of shows I missed but one that comes to mind was GG Allin/Dwarves/Screaming Bloody Marys in SF. This was '91 or '92 and we went to the show only to be told that GG was in the hospital for something that went down in San Diego the previous night.

Also sorry that I missed Husker Du and Minutemen every time they came to Sacramento as well as Venom/Slayer/Exodus at the Crest Theater.

Music Shit / Re: Sympathy For The Record Industry (represses?)
« on: May 05, 2014, 01:07:19 PM »
Yeah, I think he just represses what he can realistically sell.  Some stuff has moved to other labels (Like the Joneses' "Criminal History").  I think Patt Todd's label is/was going to reissue Lazy Cowgirls stuff as well as Humpers stuff, but I haven't heard anything about these in a few years.  I never believed the limited to 1000 claim.

I would say that the 1,000 press rings true for a few titles. I can never find Mr. Airplane Man - C'mon DJ, The Spaceshits - Misbehavin', Oblivians - Best of the Worst and Gibson Bros - Memphis Sol Today!

Anybody know of a mailorder store carrying this and/or the Spacemen 3 box set?

Thanks for the help.

Check some of these links for the Spacemen 3---going to have trouble finding Space Project on LP.

Captured Tracks has multiple copies of their releases in their Greenpoint store.

Bored Games - $15
Milk 'N' Cookies - $8 (between $5 and $9 cheaper than anywhere else)
Dunedin Double - didn't see how much this was---picked it up elsewhere---highly recommended.

Love what Gira is doing now. The Seer and My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky are great. The live show is brutal, beautiful,  intense and worth checking out.

Filth is punishing. The Great Annihilator is another very good Swans record. Children of God is arguably their best. Soundtracks for the Blind is essential and hints at what's next.

I also like The Angels of Light---especially The Angels Of Light Sing "Other People". Not as intense or pounding as Swans but damn good nonetheless.

Which one says goner 2014 at the top?

The one that has eight people---seven filled out brackets.
