Music Shit / Re: The first time you ever heard BLACK FLAG
« on: October 11, 2009, 10:14:33 AM »
1982 seventh grade (seems to be a common age around here) over at this local high school punk's house. Heard MDC's Millions of Dead Cops the same day and really fell in love with that. Saw Black Flag a couple of years later with the Dicks.

Non-Music Shit / Re: what's up with the spitting in porn?

I've had plenty of sex in my life and never felt the need or desire to spit or be spat on in the name of lubrication. Also, twenty + years of no spitting porn from the 70's through the 90s and then blam! Spitorama.
Some people like "poo play", too. To each their own.

That's a fetish---a specialized area that not everyone subscribes to/is turned on by/enjoys. Spitting is occurring across the board in modern porn, so it's not a matter of "to each their own."
Whatever. So, what about saliva freaks you out so much and/or confuses you? Porn didn't used to have so much squirting either, what's up w/ that? Why're people all into that now?

Saliva doesn't freak me out nor does it confuse me. I just don't find it sexy/appealing to be spitting during sex. Again, squirting is a specialization. Not every girl is squirting in porn but it seems like everyone is spitting.

What's up with all the spitting in porn? There has been a bit of a gap in my porn viewing (prefer the 70s stuff over anything) so I'm wondering when copious amounts of saliva became a turn-on?

Music Shit / Kurt Vile Childish Prodigy quality control
« on: October 08, 2009, 02:30:26 PM »
Anyone pick up the new Kurt Vile LP and have some issues with the way a couple of tracks sound? Just picked up a copy today and two or three tracks sound like a truck ran over the vinyl.

eBay is not the same as it has always been for the seller. Ebay has made sure that the buyer has all the advantage and leaves the seller fucked. I've been buying/selling on eBay for ten years and it has never been this bad. The buyers are empowered and have the ability to employ chargebacks. They have also capped the cost of postage which should have never been done. I wish there was some decent competition out there.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: BOX ELDERS!
« on: August 24, 2009, 07:25:40 PM »

I've noticed a trend among buyers of records getting mouthier on message boards about new records skipping. It strikes me as odd sometimes because the labels releasing many of these records surely do everything the right way, and I'd believe that to include approving only approvable test presses. So, how about these people get their turntables checked out? Are you guys sure that it's not your equipment's fault?

Couldn't be more positive it's not the equipment. Buyers who receive defective product should be mouthy.

YES! Arrrgh---just received the record in the mail the other day and side one skips like a four-year-old girl.
