enjoyed this one very much! kinda stupid at times (plot-wise & one guy tries a little too hard to imitate klaus kinski) and steals a lot from the deerhunter, wicker man & other stuff, but it's very gritty & violent and that made up for all of that for me. loved the landscape and colors.

first off, i've seen maybe 50 hockey games in my life, so i'm certainly not familiar with the way these things are usually being handled... but i saw the videos because someone posted this on facebook, and then i went on to watch some similar recent stuff. and i saw the stuff that islanders guy gillies did for which he got suspended for NINE and TEN games - if they did that it's just ridiculous if they let this man go without any consequences. there is no doubt he wanted to keep pushing the guy into that pole, that was just pure adrenaline-fueled destruction. on the other hand, i wonder why these things don't happen more often - considering that kind of sport and looking at those turnbuckles i'd think the first thing players would do when they see some kind of solid edge somewhere would be smash somebody into it.
