i feel like at some point i've posted some of my favorite Elvis videos, but can't seem to find them. so i'm gonna put 'em here and hope some of you's'll appreciate.
this is probably my favorite, and so should really be the headliner or whatever, but i'm gonna put it first in hopes ya'll'll watch it before getting bored because yo'ure 2 kool 4 tha King. it's the King at his Vegas peak, and it is solid gold. if you don't care about him, you still gotta love the performance. highlights near 0:fifty, and 'round 3:20 on...everything in between is too great, but ya gotta watch the whole thing. for some reason i worry ya'll're not gonna like Elvis, despite everything, and i'm gonna be bummed out...for those of you who actually love music (few of you) you will appreciate the great playing by the band in this clip. well, for what it is. solid and right.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb0Jmy-JYbAeveryone probably's seen this one, but anyway, i love it. humility, even if it's fake...he's just a fuckin' pro and can own the stage. also '68 comeback is obv his peak physically. what a stud. have an enjoy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8jAqvmnsIkthen ya got this roughy, Big E at the height of his egoism and drugism both, pouring a drink on his humiliated buddy's head. awkward and uncomfortable and altogether too real.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6VcJUCuw9Mand, finally, one of His final performances, the phil spector classic "unchained melody." pathetic, sad in some respects; completely moving and inspiring in others...i don't know grammar no more but i know i cry every time i watch this clip:
