i feel like at some point i've posted some of my favorite Elvis videos, but can't seem to find them. so i'm gonna put 'em here and hope some of you's'll appreciate.

this is probably my favorite, and so should really be the headliner or whatever, but i'm gonna put it first in hopes ya'll'll watch it before getting bored because yo'ure 2 kool 4 tha King. it's the King at his Vegas peak, and it is solid gold. if you don't care about him, you still gotta love the performance. highlights near 0:fifty, and 'round 3:20 on...everything in between is too great, but ya gotta watch the whole thing. for some reason i worry ya'll're not gonna like Elvis, despite everything, and i'm gonna be bummed out...for those of you who actually love music (few of you) you will appreciate the great playing by the band in this clip. well, for what it is. solid and right.

yeah, i know, no one wants to hear about someone else's dreams. it's boring and meaningless to the listener. ANYWAY...

as i mentioned in another thread my wife knew barry rowden, drummer of painted ship, since she was a little girl. he died a couple years ago and she went to his memorial, etc. around this time i had a dream where i was at my practice space, and barry rowden showed up. only i'd seen photos of barry, and this guy didn't look anything like him. i told him i was my wife's husband, and he was like "who?" and i was like "you know her, you've known her since she was a little girl!" and barry goes "oh, no, that's not me. that's Bar Rowd. I'm the other Barry from painted ship." End of dream.

then THE NEXT DAY, i was at my wife's mom's house, and she was talking about possibly being able to rent an above-garage suite from barry of painted ship. i was like "wait wait wait...barry died! you know that!" whatever. mom-in-law says "no, no. the other barry. barry warden." THERE WERE TWO BARRY'S in painted ship, and before i even knew of this fact i had a dream wherein the OTHER barry showed up! very strange. sent a chill.

then i told my wife and her mom about my dream. they both thought it was pretty weird, too.

i know, i know. boring and meaningless, still.
