Non-Music Shit / Re: BitTorrent help
« on: September 05, 2011, 03:30:07 AM »
I use pretty much Demonoid for 90% OF downloads, no virus or trojans. It is a private site.
If anyone wants an invite just message me

Yeah Demonoid's the bizness. RLSLOG.net is also really good resource, especially for keeping informed of the newer releases - they continuously update the comments for each post with new links in case they become compromised. All the telesync's, DVDrips, BDrips, Russian R5's etc. get posted up as soon as they're made available.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Movies I've been watching
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:49:33 AM »

Just saw this the other week (was leaked online a couple of weeks ago). Great documentary but reverts to fanboy-ism in parts. Yeah all the bickering has gotten most of the attention but thats not to take away from the movie which was really enjoyable.

Don't know what all the fuss was about from Q-Tip. If anything Phife Dawg came off much worse than he did i thought. but anyway - you see the movie you'll understand. The complexities of life and a bit of egocentrics. Still at least all that great music was made before fit hit the shan. Nice cuts, shame about the ego's type thing - the in-fight reasoning is outrageously vague (paranoid almost) and laughably unreasonable (from the outside looking in at least), suggesting maybe theres a lot more to that than their letting on & was portrayed in Rapaport's doc. Still one of the better hip hop docu's in the canon and an interesting insight into the group/music and that whole East Coast scene of the early 90's. Lots of old-school hip-hop luminaries guest throughout too.

Didn't even hear about this till now. Looks a tad cutesy anime lookin' from imdb - which wouldn't necessarily appeal- getting a lot of contrasting reviews too form what i can tell. Any use? Have they updated the theme song or they playin off the nostalgia and remixing it. As i remember the Original was one of the better theme songs from that time. Lots of that American-cock-rock-wailing-appropriated-by-way-of-Japan type solos. Ulysses 31 really nailed that down along with tons of weird doom-y synth moments. Some of the music Haim Saban & Shuki Levy came up with way back then to soundtrack these shows were truly epic.

Last good repackaged nostalgia cartoon I enjoyed was that Wolverine & The X-Men reboot. Very much like the 90's one (loved those Apocalypse storyline arcs with Cable/Bishop and all), still very dark - but better stories, dialogue, animation and a decent sense of humour for the most part. A few inside, storyline, jokes if you ever read any of the comics. Shame it got cancelled before it really got going...

Sorry it took a while to get on here and clear some things up...
There's no need to panic - we're not going anywhere - the singles club will be soon over and everybody will get their remaining records; we are not in the business of ripping people off.  We're sitting on two of the remaining 3 singles club records right now, and just waiting on the third so that we can send them all out together.  Subscribers (esp. Foreigners), please continue to be patient, we will be sending all of the remaining singles out to you when we get them all in house... it has been a real nightmare trying to respond to all of your emails, but we have been keeping track of any missing singles when you do write us, so they will get packed up together...if we make a mistake after the last mass mailing then let us know.

We do have some LPs coming out very very soon, and much more to come out once this singles club drama is over and we are all resting easy.

Surround sound CDR, thanks for the update; even us smelly, stinkin' foreigners do appreciate responses once in a while :) Sorry for the harsh criticisms but sometimes someone's gotta try shake things up or, sweet jebus, this WILL turn into a Toby Chan thread. Plus TB seemed as a fine a place to indirectly vent office-related frustrations in tandem at the time.

On another note, someone mentioned Scotch Tapes dude? Was thinking about working that tape club yoke they do ages ago, but decided against it in the end - thankfully, from what i gather. Apparently that dude's been missing a while, no? Maybe it was a rather elaborate delay tactic/ruse, but i thought i heard somewhere even some folks tight with him were starting to get concerned because no one had heard anything from him in a few months...

about shows... i don't know about nothing on this dates. there are a few punk shows of mexican and spanish punk some days befero but still i don't see nothing on that dates. maybe something happens later.. i don't know. i will post here if i see something

i recommend you the carrer de tallers (tallers street). on that place there are a few great music shops. and about pubs... there are a few. a lot of them on the gothic neighborhood. nevermind, red rocket, polaroid... also on diagonal there are a great rock and roll place. barbara ann and on the barceloneta you have the monasterio that is nice too. there are places with cheap food / drinks on paralel also. recently opened the psycho bar (or something like that) on that street that it seems to be nice
on the gracia neighborhood there also some ok places like heliogabal, sonido maria and a few more that are ok for some drinks.

for later hours you have the sidecar that is kind of ok

i still think the best thing to do is drinking on the street or on some square. there are a lot of people from pakistan selling beers at 1 euro during all night

Great stuff Raul. Many thanks for those. Was over there last year visiting friends also (took in the World Cup final just at that big promenade near the University(?) off Paralel last time - was epic ha!). It was all a bit hazy remembering where the good spots where and heck Spain's like ourselves economically at the moment, so who knows if a lot of them even exist anymore. Remembered loads of those guys selling cans of beer from their backpacks though (those the same guys yeh?). Great ol' system altogether ;)

And yeah if you hear anything/remember anything further, sure post back some details too. Are they still showing films up at Montjuic? Maybe it'll be too late in the year but remember they were showing Clockwork Orange and the like, in the dredged moat part, on certain nights of the week...

Cities / Gigs In Barcelona (August 23rd-27th)
« on: August 15, 2011, 02:58:13 AM »
Hi folks, will be venturing Barca-wards on the above dates. Anyone any gigs/DJ nights/bars of interest suggestions? Doesn't necessarily have to be Termbo-related stuff per se. Funk, soul, garage, & whatever else.. points of worthy note, all welcome. Thanks.

Anyone catch the Community Shield? That was some comeback. City looked well outta shape. United deserved the win but another jammy, crazy finish ; D . Incredible. Thoroughly deserved win. Seriously is someone scripting this shit? - because they need to change up the twist a bit more. You can pretty much see it coming. Was lookin forward to the peno's and all... I shoulda known.

I hear ya's on the Gunners. I foresee us salvaging some "single points" at best. Whats with all the backroom hooha at the club? Is Wenger that stubborn or are the media just havin' a laugh at the club's expense. Seems to me that what is annoying a lot of the supporters is they quite frankly don't know whats going on, other than whats being reamed off in the tabloids. That partnered with Wenger not exactly bestowing a great level of confidence over how hes tided the media storm. Which has been some pretty Days of Our Lives-grade quality drama anyways if we're being honest here.

Looking forward to some actual (relevant) football is all i care. Game on.

on the Plastic Bag Baby scale, what is LoudLove at here?

Only a 2. He makes sense re. best for label to communicate delays to people who paid for records and are waiting, but a bit over the top in his complaining. The only thing that makes it PBB is the volume. Content is too rational and not paranoid enough to be a real PBB quality spin out.

Yeah maybe the cunt thing was a bit harsh but still aimed in the right direction/same general vicinity of what oh 400 or so people would think on it; but then it wouldn't of been half as fun or garnered half the level of (slightly entertaining) drunken retaliation from the local bro's. This thread was getting old. Needed a bit of a depth charge. Hope you guys get your records anyways. Illegal downloads will work the trick in the meantime though (well for the nine(?) in actual existence so far).

No shit. If you did I am sure you'd not act like such a baby. Some of the solidest and most supportive dudes in the game. Without them most of you people would know dick about a lot of great music and some of yer favorite bands may have never been heard by anyone but ten or twelve drunken dudes who were too busy trying to get some of Lutzko's blow to bother paying attention. No offense to those of us who resemble the last remark.

I'm not questioning Columbus' reputation prior to this at all.

Although by your rationale you're saying because they helped support a load of great underground bands and a lot of great underground music - it's ok to give their customer's the cold shoulder, and spend/sit on their fucking hard-earned money without any explanation. That's fucking bullshit. If i lived anywhere near the place I'd give them a shout for real (something they don't seem too obliged to do) but in actuality i live on a whole other continent and even if i did live in/near Columbus & being as loads of folks are getting unreturned e-mails/phonecalls why should i bother my hole wasting gas money driving the fuck down there to collect it. Whoever paid for fucking postage and packaging, paid for just that. This is 8 months later and about 6 months ago I was completely supportive/understanding, because like you said, I'd heard rumors they could be going through a rough patch at the moment with life and such. But at this stage... still no answer?... I totally commend them for all they've done in the past but, if they wanna screw over their great reputation by being ignorant, they're doing a fine job of it. So why should i think any differently about them?

I'm not at all bothered about the cash (most of which i could recoup from pimping Thrashfast's 2 dads down outside the local methadone clinic), or the fucking records; i just think it's ignorant of them to leave other folks/their supporters, who support them with their OWN hard-earned blood, sweat & tears, and who mightn't have necessarily been able to afford this cash, to throw at the label in the first place. Folks who took the risk on their own dime (much the same IDEAL as any record label) to fund the release of this great music (rather than download it illegally which is easily done!); and now they're getting ignored by the label they're trynna support? And thats ok?? Yeah right on...

And remember without the people buying the records they put out and going to the fucking shows, their work means sweet FA. Way to go shit all over your reputation. So you tell me, why couldn't they just stick some notice on the website saying -- we're gone for 6 months but we'll carry up where we left off? Any delays, do the same. Its straightforward shit - I don't mean to have a go at the label, but i think i have the motherfucking right to, considering the circumstances - same as everyone else in the same boat.
56
Some of y'all are fuckin' idiots. This label has never ripped anyone off and if things are behind right now I'd guess it has a lot to do with some major life changes (ex. Recent parenthood, recent home ownership) I understand some of these folks are going through. Half you fuckers steal from bands and labels all the time anyway with yer downloading, so shut yer mouths, hold yer damn horses and show some respect.

Then in that case, all it takes is them to post a message up on their site confirming there's delays due to family issues, and thats fair enough. Instead everyones just left to hypothesise and wait and bitch about it. But no, best idea is to ignore everyone then yeah? Yeah, fuck all those customers supporting them. I think most of us have been above and beyond patient - even when we've been outright lied to by whoever was running their e-mail. Last time most folks have heard a peep, is about 8 months ago at least.

So yeah, sad to see them leave so many people/customers/patrons in the lurch without a by your leave.

No schadenfreude here, too many great records have come out via these guys. Best vibes only.

I'd wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment of the situation. In fact its completely null and void being as from the sounds of it you aren't still waiting on 3-6 records of the 12 of what you paid about 100 bucks for without response. I'd reckon they're well-travelled into complete cunts country, at this stage. If you can't finish the fucking job, pony up the fuckin' dough back to the customer. Simple. Oh, I forgot ...they're cowardly cunts : P

I whole wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment of someone else's opinion

these guys put out great records. Hope they keep unearthing more and more harrisburg players & rep jay stuff.

WOO

How about you unearth your face from my shit. Go thrash your cockmouth fast in some other direction, wigga wannabe. His opinion. My opinion. As you said. Its all the same. So don't you worry your little head standing up for your lil Termbro.

Fuck CDR though for screwing people over with their Singles club is all. I'm sure they've put out great records in the past, but that doesn't seperate it from the fact they're cunts now.

Word to your mother, woo.... bro... whatever

Gojira 70's japanese punk. Mr. Kite are insanely good. Is all they've ever released a 7" and whatever comp tracks? Mirrors are also pretty excellent.
