Tits, man. The flick is tits. Golan & Globus are cinema Gods. Cannot wait for The Go Go Boys.

Not sure if "tits" means good or bad?
Of course 'tits' means good.

I watched Tender Mercies last night, good watch. Watched the Jandek doco too, painful.

not a cheap one, never seen it before.

Totally my cup of tea. Somewhere near Madrigal, Les Ralizes Denudes, Angel Face...
In the tradition of the French noisy experimentalisms of the 70's (Mahogany Brain, Gutura, Barricade...) with a Stooges/Punk vibe.
That would make a great reissue !
I can't find a place to listen to this anywhere..

Movie Geeks United: Hit or miss. The Kubrick Specials are great!

Nice. Thanks for the heads up.

In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qykl

There's a huge archive with hundreds of episodes covering every conceivable topic. They're really dense, it's almost like attending a lecture at Cambridge.
Addicted to Melvyn Bragg's IOT. especially his ones on history. Witness, World Book Club, History Hour, and Documentaries are all good BBC World Service things to check out.

http://russianrulers.podhoster.com/ - All things Russian history. Good one on Rasputin where many of the myths surrounding him are debunked.

http://www.kcrw.com/news-culture/shows/bookworm - Michael Silverblatt's converses with heavyweights of contemporary lit. I hold a lot of admiration for Silverblatt, but fuck he sounds stoned in every interview. Dennis Johnson one is worth checking out for sure. If anyone else has leads to other DJ interviews hit me up.

i never liked this band much, but i liked this doco. still don't care for their music.
I've said it before, it's a shame their musical output isn't as good as this doco. I've watched it a few times now and have laughed a lot each time.

Mitchum and Peck on the same page, fitting as last night I watched Cape Fear.

I watched The Fly three times in two days last week. Watched the mutated dog scene from the sequel and am eager to watch that in full shortly. Watched Misery having not seen it for a long time, had a good time watching. Found a really excellent HBO produced film from '95 Citizen X which follows an underfunded, unsupported, and maligned inexperienced detective working inside the USSR trying to catch the the serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, while his superiors refuse to believe there could exist a serial killer inside of the ussr. Also watched the South Korean horror/revenge film I Saw The Devil fuck this shit though, bores me to death. Watched all of the pre - Wire series The Corner in two nights. A must for fans of The Wire

While on the topic, those Prison Moan tracks I heard were solid, too.

Coneheads are totally cool but you guys are coming off like pedophiles. What, do you work for the BBC or something?

Today I have listened to: BFTG #2 - V-3 live on WNUR - Zyklome A - Demdike Stare - Hagar The Womb - Dick Raaijmakers - Ash Ra Tempel - Cosey Fanni Tutti
V-3 live on WNUR - that and maybe Stache's '91 are my fave V3's.
Love to hear those V-3 live recordings mentioned. Any leads?

I saw Ox in person at the Saginaw Civic Center in 1982 and was terrified. Turns out he is a sweetheart after all.

has anybody on here read the steve hanley 'big midweek' book?
my missus got it for my b/day. about one third through it and its pretty harrowing in a deadpan mundane sort of way.
Never read any of the books based around The Fall/MES. Would be interested in a good starting point
