I don't do telemarketing but I do work for a call center for five law firms. One of the most stressful jobs I've had. It makes you want to drink every night.

We have eight cats and I love them for different reasons.

Animala- Only sleeps in the bathroom, is extremely sweet but freaks out at the weirdest things, loves plastic (that's her cat nip).

Kaiju- She's a big monster, she acts like a dog and loves to eat my shoes

Scooter- Very old cat (around 17 or 18), acts much like my boyfriend (kinda an asshole but can't help but love them)

Cinnamon- She looks like a Jew and acts like a Nazi, weighs about 1lb, can hear the can opener from a mile away

Mui- The leader of the pack, easily annoyed and scared of nosies, likes to eat eggs and chicken noodle soup

Rummy- Enjoys tackling the other cats for no reason, eats vomit, talks a lot

Lemmy- He's a male model, is a complete whore for food and has stolen my heart

Kamrhi- Snaggle tooth, looks like Chowder, loves those balls that have the bells in them, enjoys sleeping against walls

People that say they hate drama (because they are always the people in the drama they say they hate)

Saliva

Wondering "what happened last night?"

Ping Pong

People who plant fake flowers in real dirt

Babies

Being poor

Being talked down to

People that bother me about work when I am on my break (it's happening right this second)

Opening a can of soup and watching the cats come running in thinking its 9 Lives and gather round the dishes and seeing their hungry, expectant little faces turn to disappointment when I pour the soup in a pot and start cooking it. Schadenfreude blowout!

Also, the Meg White sex tape. I'm fairly certain its not her, but I still watch it.
That happens to me all the time. My cats come running because they think anytime I open the drawer I'm going to feed them tuna. Stupid cats!......

...it doesn't snow but is 100 fucking degrees for three months,

Sure, that describes all of California, right?

San Francisco has only reached 100 twice in the history of recorded weather going back over 150 years.

Even in Sacramento, where people like to say it's 100+ all summer long, it only averages 9 days per year over 100. Nevermind that this year's been an exception...we still had the best weather in the whole country throughout most of May and June, so it evens out. 100 degrees for three months is more like the desert areas of the Southwest.

Is summer really so great in the South? Go outside and instantly sweat? Or, go outside and get buckets of rain dumped on you? Yeah, that sounds really great!

there is no such thing as fall or winter,

The highest snowdrifts in the USA every year are found in California, in case you didn't know.

the water is brown so who cares that the tempature of the water is nice to swim in,

Any navigable river in the USA is full of algae and agri-chem leachings. But if you want clear and clean water, we got that in spades, too.

In the South, you can go jump into a bayou....oh yeah, that's water that not only looks like chocolate milk with a layer of moss on top....it also makes you stink when you get outta the water. And you got leeches all over yourself.

expensive housing,

In the Bay Area, LA, SD, OC, sure....as for the rest of the state, the market's back to reality.

You could say a 150k house in Sacto is expensive compared to some house in the Midwest or South that you can buy for the price of a used clunker car. But there are houses here that are turn-key (just move in and enjoy) for even half that now, but that $8000 house in some crappy section of whatever-town is gonna require you to spend a lotta money just to be safe from electrical fire or getting pulmonary fibrosis from all the rot and mold you're breathing. So look to spend tens of thousands just to get that $8000 house up to code. And once you're that deep into your investment, now your house is still not very valuable because it is where it is, and that market had no momentum even as the nationwide real estate bubble was continuing to puff up.

you HAVE to have a car,

Bay Areans would beg to differ. I actually think that Davis, CA, is even more livable as a carless living city than anywhere else. And I've even seen the potential of going carless right here in Sac. But I do enjoy roadtripping too much.

tons of illegal aliens.......

They make the best food!

I see...this is the reason why DJ Rick missed out on the advance ticket...
Sorry you missed your ticket over this! : )

I'm in Rancho Cucamonga which is not far from LA and it's been over 100 degrees for more than two weeks and been in the 90's for a couple months. I will agree however that it's better than being humid like much of the rest of the country, horrible none the less. I have never been in snow except for the few times I have gone to the mountains which are on fire right now, like every year (it's really helping the air quality). Have you ever been to Long Beach, Newport, Santa Monica?? I am NOT getting in that water. Trust me, it's no Pismo. $316,000 is the average price of a home here this year and your ass ain't gettin' anywhere without a car. Granted, there are nice places here but California is overrated. There are better states.

if you think Rancho Cucamonga sums up california you are in grievous error. I think Rick addressed these issues quite well. How is California overrated? Is there an official rating system? or a booster society touting how incredible california is trying to dupe people into moving here.? I say, if you don't like someplace then split and find somewhere you do not feel misearable. I have never told anyone to move here, maybe what I like is not to their taste, so why try? Also, comparing states means nothing-it depends on what you want. It's like bands-I hate X and Devo, others cannot understand it but both bands have enormous, universal appeal so they must be doing something right. So what? to each his own and all that. sometimes friends and family, or a job, or whatever make an otherwise crappy place the best on earth. if maine has it, cool, every place has its merits and drawbacks. it is an individual thing but it is an awful generalization to say there are better states than others. it's all perspective and experience. except mississippi. we all know that place sucks.
Love it or leave it right?? And yes, Rancho Cucamonga sums up California much better than San Diego or San Francisco. There do happen to be things that I like about being here but most people only talk about the "cool" stuff not the drawbacks of living here and there are certainly drawbacks (just like any other place)

As I stated in my last email, Northern and Southern California are completly different. And yes, the illegal aliens make some damn good food.
