Loved them at Goner, but I kinda think I'd be tired of them in a few years. And why the fuck is it still a sensation in 2009 to be gay? I asked people at Goner, but most got very angry. Americans seem to live on a different planet...

Yes, Planet-Rock'n'Roll!   Also, if Europe(or wherever) is so chock-a-block with gay normal-ness, where are all the awesome openly and blatently gay rock'n'roll bands?  Being an awesome rock'n'roll band with with aggressively gay themes would only be boring if it had been done a billion times.  It hasn't...   There 've been a bunch of shitty bands, a few good ones sprinkled here and there, but there's no way in hell there's been more than a dozen bands that do what Hunx(& His Punx) does and do it WELL.  Thats the point, him doing it WELL(& getting some recognition for it) puts him head and shoulders over Pansy Division garbage.

Now, with every other band you listen to, hasn't their concept been done a million times?  Hasn't it been beaten into the ground for the the last 30 to 40 years?  Why aren't you tired of all the other more cliche rock'n'roll bands?

Furthermore, full on same sex marriage is only available in like five or so European countries.  How does that equate to "gay is pase"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Same_sex_marriage_map_Eu rope_detailed.svg

for some reason this brought to mind limp wrist. they do it fucking well.

Black Flag is the best fuckin band. All singers are great but if you forced me to rank em;

1) Chavo
2) Rollins
3) Dez
4) Keith

i know! i sometimes feel like listening to anything else is stupid because they blow everything away by a long shot...there's just nothing that stands up to what they've done and i don't think there ever will be. their section in our band could be your life is one of the most inspiring things i've ever read.

I just like Black Flag. I don't listen to only one album/single/singer.

i can agree with that

dang it sold! I wish I could find a copy of that lp or the permission ep

permission is the best thing that band has ever done, and i'm a fan of all of their stuff. the lp is pretty weird man, i like it a lot but it's kind of hard to get into. it's coming out on parts unknown pretty soon, you should just wait till then and get a standard copy instead of blowing money on the test press. the test press isn't anything special, it's just got a picture of an indian on it and a pretty basic insert, believe me you aren't missing much...well, besides the music i guess.

are you aware that that iron lung/endless blockade lp is just live stuff? i think some people don't know that and think it's an actual release that they just missed out on but i don't think that's what it was intended to be, i'm pretty sure it was a europe only pressing deal or something.

you can check ebay for that dry rot permission ep, there were 2 copies of it on there the other day for the first time in a long long time. also, some dude on here was selling one not too long ago, i got their deerhealer single off him for a good price.

maybe i'm old fashion but i think downloading music in mass quantities is lame. it totally takes the fun out of mailordering records and stuff. i mean, sure, you do have a point when you say it helps you choose what records to buy but i think that also kind of limits you too. if you take a chance on something and end up not liking but hang onto it anyways there is a good chance that you might like it when you pull it out and listen to it again somewhere down the line. the other side to this of course is being stuck with shitty records that you don't want, but that's a risk you know you're going to take, and it happens to everyone i'm sure. also, when you download records and then order them there's no anticipation man, there's no excitement when you go out to check the mail everyday to see if the mailman has come yet. am i the only person that feels this way? there are probably a lot of people that disagree with me and think that downloading music is essential or something, but that's just my take on it. to me it totally seems to make punk music more...boring, or typical or...stale. i don't know how to say it, it just seems like it's totally contrary to the idea of underground music...

i'm not criticizing or anything i'm just saying it's not really my thing, but i think it's interesting how downloading music has pretty much become a part of every day life for a lot of people. what do you older people think about this? do you miss the good old days of trading tapes or going over to your friends house to tape records, or do you prefer the convenience of modern times?

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: New Tape from The Kidnappers

Who likes tapes?

i do. it sucks that its become a novelty and you see bros wearing trendy t shirts from target and walmart with cassette images on them, but whatever. i'm more excited when i find stuff on tape then on any other format, i don't know why, i just think it's a lot more fun and exciting.
